I guess we had to see this coming, but here's the latest bit of news according to Force.net (http://www.theforce.net/episode2/index.html):
Bye Bye Bye: N'Sync Cut From Episode II
This morning we've received numerous reports that N'Sync will NOT be in Episode II, with many TFN readers alerting us to this story at Ananova.
Apparently, it's true: N'Sync has been cut from "Attack Of The Clones", being confirmed by no less an authority than N'Sync's Joey Fatone. On the Carson Radio Show on 99.3 FLZ:
FATONE: "I'm going to make it officially known that they dropped it because people made a big deal about it.
CARSON: "Are you serious?"
Click on the link to the Carson Radio Show (http://www.933flz.com/carson.html) for an MP3 of Fatone making it publically known: N'Sync is NOT in Episode II. Thanks to Tom Neys for being the first to tell us of the Ananova story and to Michael Rogers for alerting us to the Fatone interview. TFN will also be mirroring the MP3 in case the 933 FLZ site goes down."

Talk about power to the people!!
That is great news but they shouldn't have been considered for the picture in the first place!!

THANK GOD!!!!!, that's all I can say. At first I didn't care, but then I thought about having a fucking boy band in my favorite trilogy and realized how bad of an idea it was.. I listened to that MP3 of Joey and he sounds pretty upset about it, "Hey Joey, guess you didn't have as many fans as you thought, huh Mother Fucker???". I am glad people stood up and took pride in the trilogy and basically said "Lose the faggots or you lose me". Power to the people, right on, brother.....

George Lucas is our bitch!! Now, everyone make a big deal out of JAR-Jar sucking, and the acting and dialouge. Maybe than we`ll get another good SW movie.
Zing!

Wow! That just made my day! Now let's start the anti-Jar Jar campaign!

Don't say anything about the acting untill you know if it's bad or not. Infact, I found out from a Star Wars website that George Lucas wasn't pleased with Hayden's performance in the second trailer telling the young star that he's "Coming on to strong, be less dramatic" so don't you worry about the acting George will take care of that part, and as for the dialoge well I've already explained that to you, and you should reconsider what I said because you never know I could be right... I know I am, I just need to get you to think the same thing http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif...

I seriously don't know why people made such a stink about it! I'm not an NSYNC fan but hell, there were only gonna do cameos. I think it is ridiculous that people were crying over this!

If they were just gonna stand there...who cares???
It would be an entire different matter if they had some speaking part. THEN matters would be really outta hand.

I heard that Mp3 of him talking. But still I mean I didn't care about it at all as you can see from all of those posts people have made bout N'Sync (Sink) i've never replied. But I was gonna see the movie whatsoever.

I don't even know why they would want to be in it as extras anyway. NSYNC were supposed to be extras, right? If so, that's stupid considering how big of stars they are. If I were them, and I'm glad I'm not, I would be insulted.
But, anyway, glad they aren't in the movie.

DCT, the same person who did the script for the Scorpion King, wrote the script for Ep. II. If your not worried about that, and you still think that the dilaouge will be good (have you even seen the trailers?) than thats your opinion. But I have seen the SW movies, and ALL of them have bad dialouge - its just that when in the original trilogy it doesnt bother me; it was supposed to be camp. But after TPM,....oh, I dont even wanna get into it. I think the dialouge will stink, and I have more than enough evidence for this assumption. Just different opinions, thats all.

Now I'm not one to start Conspiracy Theories, but did it cross anyones mind that, Mr. Lucas, being the sly bastard that he is, and knowing that N'SYNC's cameo was SO small, told the members to say "we got cut out" despite the fact that they still remain in the film? I mean, you say "They aren't in it", people stop hating him and see the flick, and N'SYNC gets their cameo. I think thats whats going on. Its too small to see, so Lucas is just trying to pull a fast one on us. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

I don't feel like getting into it either, your right it's just a difference in opinion. But before we not get into this let me say one more thing: You haven't even seen The Scorpion King yet. And if you were asking if I have seen the Star Wars trailers, yes I have. I have them downloaded on my computer. As for Scorpion King trailers, yes I have seen that one as well, it's not that bad. I mean we get to see the most electrifying man in sports entertainment (The Rock) act! I can't wait, the rock is one of my favorite people in the world...

I didn't think N'Sync being extras would make Episode II a bad movie, but I'm glad they won't be in it. This ought to shut up all those people who say that Lucas doesn't listen to his fans anymore.

According to AICN a official at Lucasfilm said that the band members are still in the film. I guess Joey Fatone was wrong in saying Lucas had cut them. I am so pissed off. I thought maybe Lucas has just had a brain lapse and hired the gay boys for a cameo but later regained consciousness and said "damn I just hired little bop boys to be in my hugely loved sci-fi epic, the fans will hang me" and rushed to the editing room and cut them right out of the film. And everyone is happy and calps. But it appears lucas is going to be an ass and keep them. Those two guys already in line for "Episode II" should just get tickets for "Spider-Man" the real summer blockbuster. Spidey is going to burn Obi-Wan alive. DIE JEDI MASTER!!!!!

Alright everyone...let's cool it on the "gay" rhetoric. If you don't like these jokers, that's fine, but words like "faggot" aren't going to prove your point any better. Let's not turn this into one of those "free for all" boards which ultimately just turn against themselves. Thanks.
BTW, isn't one of them banging Britney Spears??? Now if that's gay...sign me up!!!!

Who cares if N-Synch are in the next Star Wars as EXTRAS! I sure dont. I'd much rather concentrate my negative energy on getting that fucking mook "Jar Jar" out of the film then bitching about background players with no lines or close ups.

What annoys me is that Joey Fatone didn't seem to understand why people were making such a big deal of it. It still annoys me that Lucas can't seem to get his head out of his arse. It seems his children are doing more of the directing than him. Wasn't it his son that named Jar Jar? I'm all for making your kids #1, but if you were an accountant, would you let your child file your clients taxes?

Considering how so many hate N'sync and DO NOT want them in SW2. Here's an interesting perspective.
They play jedi knights that most likely... GET KILLED!!!
How's that a bad thing?

Most Star Wars fans would KILL to get a part in Star Wars, even if it was just them getting killed. So the fact that N'Sync does in fact get killed in the movie doesn't do it for us.
This must be the only instance that N'Sync-haters would be OPPOSED to N'Sync getting killed.

Does anyone think this whole thing may have been a publicity stunt? It's weird, to me, that after doing Star Wars for over 20 years, that Lucas would all-of-sudden be in the mist of controversy - over-and-over again. Even stranger is that most of this controversy started after the biggest threat to the Star Wars franchise, LOTR.
The last dozen times I've heard Lucas' name in the news, it has surrounded some sort of controversy. If not controversy, then it's about how LOTR is going to take over the Star Wars franchise.
Just an observation.

Personally, I enjoy the star wars movies, but I'm by no means a huge fan of the Star Wars franchise, but I can see why many people would be outraged by this mockery of everything the movies represent to their die-hard fans. The very fact that Lucas would even entertain the idea of adding teeny boppers like nsync is ridiculous, regardless of whether they were supposed to die or not (and i'd bet all my money that there is no way their publicist would let them die in the movie had their parts not been cut). First jar jar, now this. I can see why the really obsessed fans were pissed. When i saw it in the papers, i just laughed. But in the end, I think it was probably a smart way for lucas to drum up more interest about this movie. I guarantee you teen girls will show up for this movie regardless, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite "artists."
