Saw this again last night and I still wonder why it isn't more well-known among Horror or Movie fans in General. I say it's one of the best Werwolf-movies ever made, but it's unlike every other Werwolf movie I've ever seen before.

The whole plot is a Dream some girl in a lonley land-house has. And that's how the whole movie looks, a dream, a pretty weird one, but not a nightmare. The girl finds herself in a middle-age like World where she lives with her family. Her sister has been killed by a wolf so the whole male village population is out to track the wolf (and every other wolf they meet ) down. As the movie goes on, the Girl ( named Rosaline in her Dream ) gets more and more fascinated by Wolfs and their origins.

The movie isn't mainly about Werwolves and they are not portrait as evil or not even villans. That's why this ain't a ordinary Werwolf film, it takes place on many different levels. It's more like a fairytale on acid with occasional hints at Horror and Romance. Truely a one-of-a-kind movie you have to see more than once to fully get it.

I hope I made anyone curious, it's well worth seeing. 9 from 10 points.

The first time I saw this movie (when it was first released) I was a little disappointed because, I guess, I was expecting something a bit more "normal" (a flick with a plot, in other words.) On the other hand, it stuck with me for days. I was taken by the dream-like and sureal ambience, and the visuals. I rented it when it was released on video, and absolutely loved it. One of the most unique and original horror movies out there. My advise is to go in with as little expectations as possible, and let the movie take you were it wants to go. (8/10)

This movie scared me for one reason and one reason alone - Angela Landsbury!!!

Actually, I agree it is a forgotten treasure and easily the second best werewolf film i've seen (after American Werewolf in London of course). 7/10

It was a good flick. Cool visuals, good acting and lot's of interesting fantasy stuff... It's probably too weird for most people and not exactly a horror film, so I'm not wondering why it has been forgotten. It has probably been a real pain in the ass for the marketing people behind the film...

7/10.
