Freddy is God

I just finished watching all four TCM movies. I had already seen the first one, and it will always be a classic without a question. Definitely one of the top 5 horror movies. The sequels were all quite different, however. Part 2 I actually thought was really good. It brought in some humor, we got more familiar with the family, and we got some more gore. The one thing Part 2 didn't have that the first one did was suspense. Other than that, it was great. The third one was so-so. The writing was not too good, and the family was not nearly as scary as the first family. Viggo Mortensen was great though, and the Spelling Bee thing was funny. The New Generation is underrated. Most horror fans consider it one of the worst horror movies ever, but I wouldn't put it that way. I thought it was bad, but not terrible. The suspense was non-existent and Leatherface was completely unscary, but the acting was great and the story was a nice change I thought. So what is everyone else's opinion on the TCM movies?

I thought #1 was one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen. I love it.
The others?... eh...so,so. More funny than anything else.
Incidentally, The Independent Film Channel will air TCM #1 tonight, at 10:P.M. E.S.T.

I just got around buying the remastered widescreen version of TCM and watched it for the first time in a couple years and it truely is real horror masterpiece. Part 2 is somewhat corny but it still is fun and you really shouldn't compare it to the first one. I haven't seen part 3 but I watched part 4 last night and I have to say that it was a load of crap... seriously, what on earth were the filmmakers thinking while making it. Matthew McConaughey was good at his role, but other than that I'll never waste a second more of my life on that film.

Heh, I've never actually seen the movies, but I picked up part 3 at my favorite used movie shop, so I guess I'm going to start with that.

Part one is an absoulute classic. Tobe Hooper's direction was near flawless and Marylin Burn's lead performance was utterly brilliant. part two was a good follow up which may have equelled the orignal if the studio hadn't fucked with the final cut. 3 and four are just purely living off the name of the first two. aviod at all costs.

Avoid at all costs. . . hmmm, too late for me, so I'll enjoy it on another level. Maybe the same level I enjoy my Leprechaun movies on (the drunken level).

Am I the only person alive that disliked TCM???? I still think it is one of the most OVERRATED films ever. There was NOTHING scary or interesting about it. I saw it as more of a comedy.
I nearly fell in the floor laughing when wheelchair boy gets it....god that movie really is worse than what everyone says.

TCM IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST DAMN HORROR FLICK OF ALL TIME! THE SEQUELS HOWEVER AREN'T GREAT. ANY DUMBASS THAT WOULD SAY THAT TCM 4 IS BETTER THAN 1 SHOULD BE HANGED FROM A MEAT HOOK AND EATEN BY THE SAWYER FAMILY! I DON'T THINK 2 AND 3 NECESARILLY SUCK BUT THEY AREN'T TOO GOOD.
