Evil Dead: funny?

I saw Evil Dead for the first time a month or two ago, and I was expecting it to be a total scare-fest from start to finish. Part of it was really completely scary, but some parts I just wasn't scared by because they were so funny. For instance: the girl who turns into a doll or whatever the fuck that was supposed to be with the red cheeks and the childish laughter. I'm sorry, but that was funny. But the tree part, the first girl who was possessed, and some other shite was pretty fuckin freaky. But the Movie Database lists Evil Dead as a Horror/Action/Comedy, so I think maybe some of it was intentionally funny. We know the sequels were...

As far as I know the Evid Dead is suppose to be a strait up horror movie. It seems as though the Evil Dead II is almost a remake of the first one with the comedy element added. I really don't think much of the first one is funny at all. Scary is the word I'd use to describe it.

I like the evil dead trilogy.Yeah evil dead is sometimes very funny and also very cool.I like the blood that floods around in this movie.In 1995 i saw from Dusk till dawn,that was before i had seen the evil dead trilogy,and that movie is just as cool as evil dead.ash kicks ass !!
