View Full Version : Have any movie requests? Slap them here baby!

I'm starting this post so everybody with movie requests can have a place to put them in. I dont want to clutter the board with too many "Hey Arrow review this" "hey Arrow review that". From now on please use this post as your only "request" outlet.

NOTE: Just because you put a request up, that doesn't mean I'm gonna review it right away...do you guys know how many horror films are out there? I haven't even touched the 60's yet! Arrow's got loads of work to do and he's always doing his best.

I was just wondering, you will be reviewing THE FORSAKEN right? Otherwise that can be my request... Also, Pumpkinhead 2, I don't know wether to rent it or not and I can usually trust your reviews... THANKS...

How about something a little different? There's a Russian cult-horror flick from 1967 called the Viy (Vee) that got a great review at mondo-digital: http://www.mondo-digital.com/viy.html

You can pick it up here for 20 bucks: http://www.st-p.com/sell.asp?ItemId=942

Yeah I know, the page is in Russian. Order by phone. They speak english.

I'd do it, but I want another opinion. /ubb/wink.gif

Poor Arrow. He's gonna have a hard time keeping up with all these requests.

Anyway, I'd LOVE it if he reviewed all the ALIEN movies, and as long as he reviewed THE 6TH DAY, how about TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2--now those are classics!!!!

- People under the Stairs
- BLAIR WITCH PROJECT
- The Serpent and the Rainbow
- BLACK SABBATH

I've never seen Faces Of Death, and I'm not sure of how much of it is true... so that's why I want a review of them.

Cyclonus
04-27-2001, 06:40 PM
From what I've heard, most of it was faked. Still, I plan to never watch it. Ever.

I can accept the fact that our good friend Arrow reviewed some really nasty stuff. I can even deal with the fact that he reviewed "I Spit on Your Grave" (reviled by just about every other critic on the planet).

But "Faces of Death" is different. It passes itself off as a documentary (which none of the other films reviewed do), and exploits the material in the worst possible taste.

I would be ashamed to even see it, which I will never do.

BTW, Arrow, did you see it? What's your stand on the issue?

The Arrow
04-27-2001, 07:36 PM
I've seen parts of Faces Of Death but didn't bother watching all of it. Its just not my bag. If its real...I dont really get a kick out of seeing people die. If its fake, its not like there's a story, characters and good production values to keep me interested.
Some people get off on this kind of shite but it doesn't appeal to me. I'm not saying I'll never review one of them but I am saying I've got way better and important movies to cover before I hit it (like the Alien series).

Faces of Death is bullcrap in my opinion.

The whole Idea sucks from every moralistic angle and some parts of it are so ridicolously fake ( I'm talking bout that Ghost-Photography thing ) that I can't believe somebody really taking this serious.

I've once done a survey about vegitarism in school, where I used some of the animal-slaughterhouse part and that's the only reason why I saw it. Calling this crap Horror is an insult to the genre and the sickos who made it should be sued.

I put up this post for a couple of reasons.

#1 To get an idea of what I'm missing and what people want. When I don't know what to watch next I just look at this thread.

#2 So my inbox can stop being crowded with requests.

How I'm gonna go about it? Well it depends on my mood like what Im up to watching or not. Example Howling 2 will take a while to hit the page and so will those damn Leprechaun sequels. But basically I'm taking it one movie at a time bud... /ubb/smile.gif

TO ARROW-I decided to rent Chopping Mall and I agree with you, it's very boring. But that's the first half hour. When those robots went haywire and started killing the people in the mall, I admit I really got a kick out of this. There are a few luscious tit shots and as for gore, there are a few nice neck pierces, some burned and electrified people, an awesome slit throat and a very, very cool exploding head(I rewinded and watched this scene in slow-mo about seven times). I say you should fast forward this movie until the gore begins and you'll have a nice, fun time.

BTZombie
05-07-2001, 10:11 PM
I would also like to see a review on Office Killer.

I think you would give it at least two and a half arrows for all the gore and directing and acting, also it will get alot of chuckles out of you.

Alice, Sweet Alice will probably get 3 or 4 stars, you will love the killer's costume, the average amount of gore, and the great acting and directing, it is also pretty creepy.

Stage Fright has enough gore, directing, and creepy music to make you give it 3 stars.

Night of the Living Dead (the original and remake) has alot of gore, good acting, and a few laughs, they are worth 4 stars!
