I think URBAN LEGEND has a cool cover, I love all those urban legends all over the place and that eye in the middle is kinda creepy.

Jack Frost may have sucked, but the hologram cover was cool.

1. My Bloody Valentine (blood dripping down the gas mask
2. Just Before Dawn (Hillbilly standing on top of the hill with a machete)

4. Black Christmas (the infamous bag around the girl's face in the rocking chair)
5. Dawn of the Dead (The cool psychadelic box)
6. Terror Train (The killer conductor mask)
7. The Shining (Jack Nicholson's crazed face)

I'll stick with a classy classic and vote for Max von Sydow's silhouette in THE EXORCIST cover art.
Hey PROWLER, I love all of your choices! If you're into those early 80's-style posters/video covers, I'm sure you'd like the original cover art for PROM NIGHT. It featured the masked killer's face holding a sliver of glass (with a dead girl's reflection in the weapon). Pretty cool. The "Jamie Lee-with-an-axe" cover was manufactured when HELLO MARY LOU-PROM NIGHT II hit video stores in 1988! I like both versions, however.

I liked the April Fool's Day cover with the girl holding the knife behind her back and toasting the party complete with a noose ponytail. It isn't Muffy because it shows her in the background so I am guessing it is Buffy.

The cover for "The Dead Pit"; every time I pass it by at the video store, I have to push that damn button till I'm fully satisfied.
Plus, the cover of "Near Dark" was cool.

I thought the original cover for Pumpkinhead was pretty cool. It showed Pumpkinhead on a tree branch in all of his creepy glory. The re-release cover was boring.

i liked the original box art manufactured buy mca videocassete inc. in 1981. it was cool but the new one sucks. why was jamie lee holding the ax she isent the killer

MARY LOU, technically, Jamie Lee Curtis was holding the axe in the PROM NIGHT finale when she struck the killer with that final blow. I guess the production company needed to market her presence in that film when they re-released the video with HELLO MARY LOU. Nice red herring.

One of the more offensive posters/cover art was SCREAM 3, which featured its most underused (and underwritten) actor Deon Richmond, a marketing ploy concocted by Dimension execs with hopes of luring that key African-American demographic. Ditto Jada Pinkett in SCREAM 3 and LL Cool J in H20.
