!!!!!ATTENTION!!!!!ATENTION!!!!!!
Now we all know how dissapointed we were with the AFI show a few days ago.Someone suggested that we try our own top 100 so let's give it a go! (I'd like to hear from you,Arrow) #1 for me would have to be "Exorcist" How did they get her head to spin around like that? What would you like to add to the list?

Okay, here are my faves. Not "the best" necessarily; I'm not the scholar to make that call, and I'm the first to admit that many of the films toward the bottom of the list are just as worthy, maybe more so, than some of those up top. Some "important" films don't make the top 50 at all. THE EXORCIST IS a good movie, but I always found it to be too pretentious and full of itself to truly fall in love with it. And it never scared me...I'll also seperate "horror" from the too general "thriller"....
1) HALLOWEEN
2) PSYCHO
3) THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE
4) DON'T LOOK NOW
5) NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
6) THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER
7) BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN
8) THE FOG
9) BLACK CHRISTMAS
10) JOHN CARPENTER'S THE THING
11) THE HAUNTING
12) THE TENANT
13) CURSE OF THE DEMON
14) BLACK SUNDAY
15) HOUR OF THE WOLF
16) REAR WINDOW (borderline, but I think it counts; it's scary enough...)
17) PHANTASM
18) SUSPIRIA
19) PRINCE OF DARKNESS
20) KWAIDAN
21) BLACK SABBATH
22) JAWS
23) THE HOWLING
24) REPULSION
25) DEAD OF NIGHT ('45)
26) THE WOMAN IN BLACK
27) VIDEODROME
28) ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13
29) DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE aka CEMETARY MAN
30) A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
31) THE SEVENTH VICTIM
32) HORROR HOTEL
33) THE HILLS HAVE EYES
34) CARRIE
35) HAXAN : WITCHCRAFT THROUGH THE AGES
36) CARNIVAL OF SOULS
37) HALLOWEEN III : SEASON OF THE WITCH
38) KILL, BABY, KILL
39) THE BIRDS
40) RITUALS
41) ALICE, SWEET ALICE
42) HALLOWEEN II
43) VAMPYR
44) THE LEOPARD MAN
45) CHRISTINE
46) DEEP RED
47) NOSFERATU ('22)
48) DELIVERANCE
49) DERANGED
50) WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (For the opening and closing scenes alone, one of the scariest movies ever made...)
The top 50 is as far as I can go. I'm sure I've left off a few, and this list is subject to change with the weather...But not too much. I'll post my favorite "thrillers" later, after I recover.
