Who are your favorite "flesh and blood" killers in the horror and psychothriller genres? The likes of Michael, Jason, Chucky, Pinhead, Candyman, Freddy are excluded. So is any other evil entity that has been resurrected during countless incarnations in their respective film series' many sequels. ~May contain spoilers~

THE STEPFATHER. Sure, he came back for more, but the sequels tried to rationalise it in a non-supernatural way. Regardless, he was flesh and blood in the great original. The road warrior in DUEL, who let his truck speak for him. Bruce, the shark in JAWS. The grunting brothers in JUST BEFORE DAWN. Alan Arkin in WAIT UNTIL DARK. Norman Bates, of course, is the king in this realm.

Rutger Hauer's performance as the hitcher should be up on the list. He is just plain crazy, fucking with people's minds before disposing of them in the desolate roads of the southern US. Not horror but Early Grace (Brad Pitt) in Kaliforia was an excellent portrayal of a serial killer who was just plain crazy also. Good call on Terry O'Quinn in The Stepfather
