this movie's been mentioned, and now that I've finally seen it I can affirm that it deserves it's own thread.

If you haven't seen it, do whatever you can to get a copy in your hands. Lie, cheat, steal, fake your death, whatever. Damn is this a scary ass movie. It's the scariest movie I've ever seen. The Blair Witch Project taught me that I can be scared by what I don't see. Well this movie taught me that I can be scared out of my mind by what I see ONCE. Man oh man, I can't even explain the vibe this movie has. It's awesome.

The direction is so tight. It makes you think The Woman in Black is everywhere even when you can't see her. You end up expecting her to show up in places where she doesn't, then she shows up in the last place you expect, only you don't see it coming because you can't even expect the unexpected while watching this. It's absurdly frightening. I felt like I was the one being haunted.

If you like The Changleing (which I feel is a bit overrated, with an overblown climax), you'll dig right into this. The atmosphere is great, the setting is brilliant, the story is tight and mysterious, the resolution inevitable, and the movie's just fucking scary. No doubt. If you're a gorehound you won't dig it... but if you want a scare-your-ass-off type of movie, rent or buy this, turn the lights out, turn the volume up, and invite your significant other to spend the night before watching. You'll want to be near somebody when it's all said and done.

Arrow, dawg, I KNOW you can find this somewhere if I can. I live in San Antonio for heaven's sake. You've gotta review this.

The Woman In Black is one of the creepiest movies I've ever seen. I own the video which you can get at Amazon, and I've seen the stage show 3 times which is far better than the film, it's the scariest thing I've ever seen. If you live in England you can still see the show in London. Overall I would give:

The film: 7/10
The show 10/10 (really creeps you out bad)

I wish I was able to rent it but they don't have it at any of the video stores I've went to, which is a shame if it's "that" good...

WOW! A stage play adaptation of a horror film! I like that!

Actually Antonio, both the movie and the stageplay are based on a novel, and I believe the theatrical production began before the film was made. Regardless, I've heard others rave about how frightening the play is, and would cut off a toe to be in that audience some night. Having seen the movie, I can verify how scary it is (for those of us who still have an imagination, anyhow), and if the play is even more effective... I'm surprised we haven't heard any stories of heart attack fatalities in the front row.

I know i've told y'all this before, but it really is THE SCARIEST MOVIE EVER MADE. I was scared shitless of THE WOMAN IN BLACK for about 10 years. She has damaged me psychologically. I'm 20 now and i still get the odd feeling every now and then that she's behind me. I don't think i'll ever be 100% not scared, even though i'm grown up.
