I love this movie so much. I don't understand why everyone thinks that De Palma ripped off Hitchcock because the only thing he used that was like Hitch's work was that fact that a man was dressing like a woman (Psycho) but THAT'S IT. I love Dressed To Kill and I want to know if anyone else did too.
I also love SISTERS. The birthday scene is completely amazing!!!!

DRESSED TO KILL (1980) Directed by Brian DePalma. Angie Dickinson stars as a sexually-repressed housewife whose one-night stand with a stranger leads to murder and mayhem. Michael Caine co-stars as Angie's shrink, Keith Gordon portays her loyal son, and Dennis Franz is the detective on the case. But it is Nancy Allen of CARRIE fame who steals the show as a high-priced call girl who witnesses a murder and becomes the target of a female psycho. Derivative of Hitchcock, as is most of DePalma's work, but this film stands alone as one of the best slasher flicks from the post-HALLOWEEN era, featuring one shocking murder halfway through the film, a pretty decent murder mystery, a genuinely terrifying climax, dreamy Pino Donaggio score and excellent cinematography. One of DePalma's best. My grade: B+

Absolutely Brilliant. I can't say enough good things about this movie. From beginning to end, it is a work of art. Yes, I know De Palma rips off Hitchcock, but he just does it sooo well in this film. Easily my favourite Brian De Palma film. The elevator murder, the final murder, the tension, I LOVE IT!!!!! Fantastic film!!!

I liked it. Fans of Hitchcock hate though. I thought it was pretty cool.

PIZOWELL, I'm probably Hitchcock's greatest fan, and I loved DRESSED TO KILL. Although most of DePalma's films are derivative of The Master of Suspense, at least they are loaded with the three S's: style, suspense and sex!

ANOTONIO, I am also a huge Hitchcock fan. And if you're going to duplicate any director's style, it might as well be the master, right?

I liked it. It's well done and so I'll keep the TV on whenever I can watch it.

I haven't seen the whole thing, only about the last two thirds, but I wasn't very impressed. It seemed very cheesy, very silly, very predictable and not very original. Whether or not De Palma was copying Hitchcock's style, I found it to be tacky and heavy handed.

I wanna know if anyone else has seen this one and is willing to comment on it??? I'm anxious to see what everyone says about this movie because it ranks right up there with PSYCHO, if you ask me. But not too many people have seen it.
