A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS (1987) Directed by Chuck Russell. Nightmare killer Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) is up to his old tricks again, this time targeting teens in a psychiatric rehab hospital. Also returning from the first NIGHTMARE film are Heather Langenkamp (whose character Nancy Thompson is now a psychologist), and John Saxon as Nancy’s alcoholic policeman father Donald. The rest of the all-star cast includes: Patricia Arquette and Laurence Fishburne during their pre-superstardom days; Craig Wasson and Priscilla Pointer as rival psychiatrists; and Rodney Eastman, Ken Sagoes, Jennifer Rubin and Bradley Gregg as four of the teen inmates. This third entry in the NIGHTMARE film series is the best sequel, ranking right under the original The film's best assets are: the excellent production values, imaginative special effects and Freddy’s dynamic dialogue (his scathing, pre-murderous wit is hysterical!). My grade for DREAM WARRIORS: B+

I still don't understand why this one's "so good!" Like I said in my post I liked 2 much better and found 3 the worst of the sequels! Well maybe I'll have to watch it again (well I will when I get my DVD pack).

NOES 3 is simply amazing. The whole concept of being able to use special powers when dreaming just hit the spot perfectly, the characters are a really cool and diverse bunch and i enjoyed all of them, especially Joey, Nancy, and Kinkaid. Chuck Russel went on to direct The Blob, The Mask, Eraser, and the biggest dissapointment of 2000 - Hollow Man. Craig Wasson bears quite a resemblance to Liam Neeson, i even used to think it was him. This movie was made into an amazing PC game back in the 80s, you get to navigate your character around Freddy's house in search of Joey.

I always thought it was the huge gap between the second and third that made Dream Warriors so popular. Over here in the UK, we had to wait ages for it come through.
By the time it did, the appetites were wetted to the extreme. While being one of the better sequals, it wasnt the best. It was enjoyable, obviously because of the return of some of the orignal cast. But I was so looking forward to its release, having read about it, seen screen shots and everything! Its those damn BBFC people over here, that rate the movies and hold them back, while the rest of the planet gets a 6 month lead.
That, I think was the attraction for me. The huge wait between the 2nd and 3rd. /ubb/smile.gif

v i USED to think that the DREAM WARRIORS was a great movie, until i viewed it the other night..i bought the DVD NOES COLLECTION, and must say the first NOES was awesome!!the second one was OK, but the thiurd i just was disappointed..it was OK, but i remember it being so much better.. the rest of the NOES were kinda lame...the series i used to think was awesome has left me feeling empty...
anyone who is a big fan of the NOES series MUST get the DVD COLLECTION..the picture on the movies is excellent, and the commentaries are very interesting..CRAVEN,ENGLUND, and HELLENCAMP go into DETAIL about what made them want to be in NOES,and CRAVEN tells you how he got the idea to make "FREDDY" type villain..very interesting stuff to say the least...
now, if they can only come out with a FRIDAY DVD COLLECTION!!!

ANOES 3 is okay, but I don't think it's the best sequel. I like Freddy's Revenge and New Nightmare better. I can't put my finger on it at the moment, but there was something about Dream Warriors that just disappointed me.

Yeah NOES 3 is a very good sequal, but i still love FREDDY'S REVENGE. It's my favourite of the sequals. I still think it was very dark. It was a cruel film (see FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 4). The way Grady dies is horrible. Witnessing Jesse turn into Freddy and not being able to get out of the room, whilst his mum and dad hear him screaming. It's just cold as fuck.

I quite enjoyed certain bits of all the NOES,
even in part 2-the scenes with Freddy appearing around the house were good.
Shame they didn't put all the good bits into one film and leave it at that.

NOES 3 was great, just about as good as the original... and that NURSE!!!! I like this one and "Welcome to prime-time, bitch!" is a classic line, in my eyes.
