What's your prediction for this week's box office? According to Box Office Guru, the writer there predicts that "Exit Wounds" will be #1, "The Mexican" will be #2, and "Enemy at the Gates" will be #3.
Here's my prediction:
#1 - Enemy at the Gates
#2 - The Mexican
#3 - Exit Wounds
what do u think? /ubb/biggrin.gif

I think enemy at the gates will open at number one. and Mexican will drop right off to three or four
exit wounds will open poorly but in second or third place, i am guessing around 8-10 million.

'Enemy at the Gates' is only getting 1509 theaters, which is very little. So I will be surprised if it does any business this weekend.
So 'The Mexican' & 'exit wounds' will battle it out for the #1 spot with about $8-$9m a piece.

Hey, just because they have alot of theaters, doesn't mean that it will do great, or even good business.
remember 'little nicky' had like 2900+ theaters when it came out, and it still
even tanked on opening weekend.
or how about 'Save the Last Dance' ? didn't it have only like 2000-2200 to start with ? and didn't that make like $27m+ on its opening 4 day weekend ?
So hey, it's really hard to say why movies will get a certain amount of theaters. but if you ask me, regardless of 'exit wounds''s theater count, the fact that Warner Brothers is doing their best to not to screen it to the press is a really, really bad sign(fyi, they only did thursday night screenings, meaning tonight, meaning that critics won't be able to write a review in time to get it in their respective papers/publications by tomorrow).
I know I'm probably wrong but it's just a guess:
1: The Mexican (I think I'm right about this one)
2: Enemy At The Gates
3: 15 Minutes
4: Exit Wounds

Exit Wounds looks pretty weak. It has a very mediocre trailer, Seagal hasn't had any fans in the last 10 years, and the word so far has been negative.
I wonder how much they paid to Seagal? He probably will hurt the films B.O instead of increasing it. He can't act, he is fat and out of condition. His last 9 films have been commercial and artistical disasters. 8-15 million for the weekend.
EATG in the other hand has an impressive trailer and a great cast. I don't know if they are marketing the film in USA, but they definitely should. Limited amount of theatres will be a problem. 8-15 million.
Mexican is running out of steam quickly. It dropped 39% in it's second week and will make around 7-8 million this weekend.
1. EATG
2. Exit Wounds
3. Mexican

My off the cuff guess would be:
1) The Mexican $10.5
2)Enemy at the Gates $10
3)Exit Wounds $8.5
4) Fifteen Minutes $7

The weekend B.O just came in:
Exit Wounds 19 million (screen average 6700$)
EATG 13,6 million (screen average 8600$)
Mexican 8 million.
...I wonder if they are going to give EATG more screens? Word of mouth seems pretty positive...

i am glad I was wrong about Exit Wounds, Seagal has had a tough run and in the late eighties early ninties he had big hits and it is great that he has made a biggish film lets hope it goes onand makes some coin.

Why do you want Seagal to succeed? He can't act, he is ugly and fat. He can't even do martial arts properly anymore, because he is out of condition. I want his films to bomb. He didn't deserve Exit Wounds.

Some people get critisized for whatever they do. I feel that Seagal is one of those people. Sure he wears crazy clothes, but I think that he can actually act and he has personality. I can't say I like his films at all. He makes bad choices, but look at Chirs O'Donnell. Keanu Reeves. These guys CANNOT act. But we watch them anyway.
I just feel that Seagal is besmerched because he makes action movies and alot of purists thumb their collective nose at them.
I understand why people don't like Seagal I don't even like him that much, I just like seeing him succeed when everyone said he was over and done. Shoot me!

Well, ENemy at the Gates will widens its release into 2000+ theatres next week /ubb/biggrin.gif It'll be interesting next week at the box office as EATG expands, 3 new movies open, and Exit Wounds trying to stay on top! I wonder who will top box office next week?
