Does it have gore: Yes alittle. This is not a gore fest though so don't expect one.

Does it have nudity: No None that I recall.

Is it better than an average slasher: Yes. It's a very underrated slasher, one of the bests. I suggest you watch it now, for it's worth it. But a warning: It moves at a slow pace. I didn't mind, but I never mind slow paces, and if you don't like slow paced flicks, this may not be for you. I' not saying it's boring, because it is not, just a little slower than the normal slasher.

Alice Sweet Alice B+

ALICE, SWEET ALICE (1977) Directed by Alfred Sole. The movie was filmed one year earlier under the title "Communion", but released much later than the film's completion due to the success of child star Brooke Shields (who also starred in "Pretty Baby" and "King Of The Gypsies" during the late 70's). Brooke isn't even the title character in this horror classic. That honor belongs to another excellent child actress/one-hit wonder Paula E. Sheppard. "Alice" centers around a divorced woman (Linda Miller, daughter of Jackie Gleason, sister of Jason Miller, aunt to Jason Patric...talk about "six degrees of Kevin Bacon"!) and her two young daughters (Sheppard and Shields), and the rash of murders linking their family to the Catholic church located in their New Jersey neighborhood. Shields has the Janet Leigh-Drew Barrymore role of Alice's younger sister Karen, who is brutally slain during the film's first 15 minutes on the day of her First Communion. Suspicion falls upon her jealous, disturbed older sister (Sheppard, wearing a yellow raincoat and creepy doll's mask for most of the film), but this whodunit is far from being simple. There are twists and turns abound, as well as excellent character development (as scripted by Rosemary Ritvo and director Sole) and interesting relationships among the interconnected characters. The unknown supporting cast is high-strung but effective nevertheless. I remember seeing this movie on Showtime when I was 14, and MAN, everyone was talking about it at school the next day! That, in itself, is a recommendation. This gem is available on video (you'll have to hunt for it, though). This film was also released under a third title: "Holy Terror". The "Alice, Sweet Alice" version is the most superior, reminiscent of the classic Bette Davis fright fest "Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte". My grade: A

Alice Sweet Alice was one of the creepiest films I've ever seen and one of the best horror movies made in the 70s. The killer's costume alone is freaky...

I don't like this movie for some reason cause I like pretty much all slasher movies. I thought it moved at too slow of a pace and the setting sucked. The characters were very unnapealing and this goes down as one of the most overrated movies. I would give it a 3/10. Everyone likes this flick but me.

Spoilers****************

Yes this is a great cult film with grizzly murders (one involving a obese dude with weird fetishes) and twists in the plot. It freaks me out when Alice walks out with the knife and heads out like nothing happens (similar to Halloween 4). It is slow paced but that makes it better.
My Grade B+

Like i said before, its a keeper. I was shocked when that little girl got strangled and burned, and felt sorry for her family and herself...That was also pretty eerie, anybody agree?

No nudity, some bloody slashings-more than I expected, but no slashgasms. Its a pretty good slasher. Its a little boring in some spots and the killer is a little implausable. Overall B-.

I thought this movie sucked! Has no real edge and the film is grainy. That raincoat clad dork really blew! I refuse to watch this one again. It is bad and not worth the money try to rent it for free if you really want to see it. This movie is in the same bad level as Psychomania! But if your into raincoats and cheap church deaths watch ASA. And if you want to see bikers worship bullfrogs rent Psychomania. Even the bike wrecks suck and just when you thought it would get good! Oh and dont ever rent Blood Lake whatever you do because you will be sorry and Asylum of Horror you will kill yourself if you watch it but at least the stupid fat kid will make you laugh! If you want to know what else to avoid ask me and I will be quite frank! I strive to keep an open mind but this is insane!!!
