If any of you Schmoes had the chance to start things all over and make a sequel to horror films what film would you choose and what would you do differntly to make it not suck.
MY IDEA:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2:
With the familys evil secret know the family goes into hiding deeper in to Texas never to be found again, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre story becomes a legend of after 10 years. Many kids and teen agers tell the story of leatherface and his cannibalistic family. The old house of the murders becomes a tourist attraction and the TCM story becomes part of our history. Some say the killers are still alive and runors float about of there location. The movie pics up 12 years down the road when 7 teens who have a True Horror magizine and fan club, where they collect horror and serial killer stories and memberbilla, well these 7 teens plann on doing the ultimate story and to find out what ever happened to the TCM family. The use stories from the old folks and clues from the house to to a idea of where this horrible family could of gone , but by there own bad luck they stumble on the THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE part 2: Family Supper
Sound good or bad ?

Is it just me or are you taking the idea out of Book of Shadows:Blairwitch 2? Like the site becomes a tourist attraction and fans of the first movie want to explore the site.Other then that you have a pretty good idea.I really liked TCM 2,and your idea is cool also!

lindsey TCM 2was horrible, maybe if it wasnt part of the franchise it could be good but considering the 1st original leatherface serious and supposedly true, then having a comedy?no...i like the idea so much even if it is a BW2 rip off,hey look at IKWYDLS and UL they ripped off scream and scream ripped off of..well u get the point?

I wasnt going for a Bw2 rip-off but, since the movie was suppose to be real i wanted to keep with the idea of keeping based on a real story. I mean if the TCM really happened in real life , there would be people out there with a obsesion with it such asthe Ed Geinbs story, my idea is bnased on the facts that the whole thing was real and these young teens wanted closer over the incodent.

Not that it matters, but the events that took place in TCM never happened. Don't let that stop you from making the sequel though. I like your idea.

If only I could have gotten my hands on "Hellraiser: Bloodline." We'd have a three-hour sci-fi/horror epic of staggering proportions. *daydreams*

I think TCM 3 could have been a great flick if it hadn't been hacked to pieces by the censors. I'd take all the good parts of TCM 3 and mold a whole new version full of slashgasms.

Most of mine aren't sequels, but it's all I could think of.
-I would eliminate the wizard kid in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 (C+).
-I would have gotten some good actors for The Clown at Midnight (D-).
-I would have made the ending to Dolls (A-) less happy.
-I would have quickened the pace of The Stepfather (B)
-I would have cast Ellen Burstyn, and Linda Blair in Audrey Rose (B)

I'd make it so Highlander 2 and 3 were NEVER MADE!!!
Endgame, however, I've got no problem with...

I'd have loved to have done Hellraiser: Bloodline also. I thought the first story set in renaissance France was a great idea for a Full-Length film prequel but as a short story was woefully underdeveloped. If left up to me it would have played like a horror version of Amadeus with De Marchand, the genius toy maker being commissioned by a mysterious Salieri-like masked figure to build the Lament Configuration (The box) and on discovering the terrible thing he's done must go about destroying it. This leads him to a shady organisation made up of thrill-seeking aristocrats and of course the unmasking the mysterious cloaked figure. What da ya reckon?

Oh and another idea was for Hannibal. I would have had Jack Crawford assembling his most capable team to track down the psycho-genius. Yep Starling and Will Graham on his case AS A TEAM! I'd have loved to have seen Graham back again.
I would have used a totally prosthetic (and dubbed), totally bed-ridden Mason Verger. That would be a great SFX challenge, to make you believe a barely fleshed out skull is a living breathing human being. I'd have kept in Margot from the book, and the paedophillia references (they wimped out on that one) and played down Barnes.
I'd have started it in Florence with a new actor playing Lector - I'd have loved James Woods to do it (the book did specify that he had plastic surgery to alter his looks, so it would make more sense). The start would have been like the protracted start of psycho culminating in the death of the detective.
The rest of the story - in keeping with the previous two masterpieces - would be a lot more "psychological" and a lot less "slasher".

I would of kept Margret in it to, she gave a more errie feel to the Mason Family
