RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 1 AND 2

hey schmoes, i just rented ROTLD 1 and 2 for the first time and am so excited! I live in the bible belt, and no mainstream video stores here have a horror section to give a fuck about. I found a beat down shithole and it has the best fucking horror section i have ever seen! so what do you think about ROTLD 1 and 2? damn, im happy.

I love the first one! It is gory and hilarious! But I havnt seen part 2, how is it?

It's been a while since I've seen them, but I think I remember feeling that RETURN 2 wasn't that great. Isn't some of the same people that was in RETURN 1 in RETURN 2 as like a joke or something? If I remember correctly, RETURN 2 was basically a big comedy. A zombie asking someone to take something out of his head, a michael jackson zombie...Yeah, it's all coming back to me now. RETURN 2 stunk...or maybe I'm mistaken. Tell me what you think once you've seen it

I LOVED the first one, and the second one is damn good too, so funny yet so scary at the same time. Best line in the movie:"Get the damn screwdriver, out of my head!" Brilliant.

Number 1 is the best!
I absolutely hated the sequel....
Number one had some classic scenes and lines. "If you really loved me you'd let me eat your brain!" and there is of course the scene with the zombies calling for police backups "SEND MORE COPS". I love it!
Great film! Hard as fuck to find but worth it!

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. The scene where the zombie said "Get the screw driver out of my head" in a hick like voice. Ugh! STUPID CRAP!

man, i just watched the first one and i was suprised at how fuckin hilarious it is! It has got to be one of the best zombie movies ever! i dont have high hopes for the second, but maybe that will help me like it more.

The first one is one of my favorite horror movies. It's hilarious while being very creepy. It's one of those movies that spoofs the genre while being a superb example of the genre. Just like what Scream did for slasher flicks only ROTLD is better. ROTLD 2, however, sucked.

Of the two, the first one is the best... A classic me thinks! It almost verged on comedy, but played it down and came out with somet pretty DARK humour. Lots of the usual brain eating and so on... but I felt edgy through out this one.

The second on the other hand, was a different matter all together. funny but pointless funny! And some poor camera work too undermined a couple of the effects, which kind of ruined it, condsidering the first was done to better effect.

And is it me, or did anyone remember part 3? I'm sure there is a 3rd, I went to see it at a special screening about 6 years ago. I thought it was a welcome part of the 3, considering 2 was so bad! You know the punk chick, that turns into a zombie, sews the chain through her neck... the whole rock, S/M thing going on... I know I wasnt dreaming this!!!!

You aren't dreaming, I prefer the third installment the most. Directed by the underrated Brian Yunza it ditched the campy feel of part 2 and drew in a dark story about two young people. The whole self mutlation to make the pain go away is revelent or maybe I am digging to far into a movie as usual. Great effects including the transformation scene it should be included with the great zombie flicks.

I like all of the ROTLD movies. Part 3 is good, it took the serious turn, but it is not as good as the first two.

i just watched ROTLD2 this morning and must say that it wasnt that good. but, i wasnt suprised cuz alot of you didnt like it. i didnt think it lived up to the original in any way, wasnt as funny, wasnt as scary, and it had little kids. little kids fuckin bother the hell outta me in movies! im gonna rent ROTLD3, it looks good.

I have to say that I love 1 and I love 2 but 3 really sucked.Let me explain.First off I'm sure we'll all agree why the first is good.Now why I love the 2nd.I believe that your opinion of a movie is very much affected on the time that you watch them.Like some are perfect for a lazy sunday afternoon,or like the crazies which I like to watch on sunday mornings.These return movies all seem perfect for late night movies.And I remember seeing the 2nd one on tv late at night when I was real little and is maybe why I enjoy it so much. And normally when they change they direction of a movie like from the firstwhich was hard core gore, tits,and some laughs to light gore and heavy humor in the second but it worked for me here .But the third didn't.The zombies in these movies are not one's that drag themselves around slowly and moan and turn others into zombies when they get bit.They are not. They run around talk and other refinemints.The only thing that stayed the same was how durable they were.Also,while the first two were rather distant in theme and what not they did have a similar feel while the third one didn't.So to recap,1and 2 good,3 bad.And in all common sense the 3rd has to be independent(much like Highlander 4)from the others because it is so different,but it doesn't really matter since it comes at the end and doesn't really change anything.And to end this is odd because mainly I agree with mainstream opinion on horror movies but this differs.Most everyone I've heard likes the 3rd one a lot.But this is a free country.

i relly thought the first one was a very good movie. Well made, realistic (at least with people) and a good script. havent seen the second one, cant find it. The third one was ok, a wired twist at the usual zombie movie.
