The Shining to me is one of the greatest movies of all time. The story is pitch perfect and direction outstanding. To me the most disturbing scene in the movie is when the dude in the Bear suit is shown. My question to all you guys and girls is...Was that in the book, because I've never read the book. And was he in the act of oral sex with the other gentlemen before being distured....What does it all mean?.....thanx

I don't think it's supposed to mean anything; it's just there to weird you out.

i agree that the shining is the best horror film ever and i read the book and if i really remember the guy in the bear suit was in the sequence where Jack find the Overlock journals, as a matter of fact he is performing oral sex...freaky...

The whole bear thing was a ghost of an actual event that happened in the past. The guy in the bear suit went down on the other guy at the party. So, what Jack was actually seeing was a past thing..ghost I guess...yeah

It is supposed to be a dog suit. If you've read the book, you should know that.
