i guess this will only apply to UK residents but do any of u remember seeing a program on BBC1 back in 1992 about ghoast hunters. it was all fake but they were passing it off as real and loads of really scary shit was happening. i remember this scaring the shit out of me as a kid and i also read about sum guy killing himself over it. the BBC had to put out and appoligy about it.

I have it on tape. It's called GHOSTWATCH. It's good, even with knowledge of its fictitiousness, but I'm sure it was much more effective for people who watched the original broadcast and believed it was real.

GHOSTWATCH is my favorite made for TV horror movie. Staged like a real-life documentary is has Michael Parkinson hosting the show with Sarah Green and Craig Charles on location of the most haunted house in Britain. It was so realistic, I feel stupid saying it but I was kinda fooled. The only thing that slightly twigged me was the little girls acting but it still freaked when she went all Exorcist on us and started speaking in tongues. I'd love to get this on video. Does anyone know if it exists?

Just looked this bad mofo up on IMDB!!!! I need a copy!!!! It's not going to be released on DVD nor VHS due to the suicide and overall response to the film. If anyone does have a copy, and feels like they would be willing to dub, let me know.

When I saw this they were making it out to be a live broadcast. It's probably the only time I've been absolutely terrified watching a film. What makes it so convincing and scary is that all the presenters are actual clean-cut British presenters on prime-time television, not actors.
There's a shuddersome moment when Sarah Greene - at the house - is freaking out when she sees what looks like a face in the thermal night vision camera mode and the transmission is cut and all we can hear is hysterical screaming
And another bit that had the nation freaking out when the studio notice the clock on the wall is about an hour slow and the terrifying implications. For those who've seen it you know what I'm talking about. Brrrrrr.
And it's true someone did actually kill themselves after seeing it which is a damn shame 'cause it means we'll probably never see anything like this again.
