I know this series gets a lot of knocks, and it's hard to believe Part 7 is on its way, but these two entries really rock! Both Part 3 and 4 have inventive storylines and creative kill sequences; the directing is top-notch too. Definately worth a look for slasher devotees.

All the Children of the Corn movies are guilty pleasures to me. The series gets knocked, but they're all in good fun.
**SPOILERS**
I haven't seen Part 3 and Part 4 in a while, but I remember them having a creepy moment or two. Especially Part 3. That was the darkest film of the whole series. The two things that stick out in my mind are the whole sequence in the Gatlin corn field and the part where the Mary statue comes to life. Creepy.
The Gathering was more of a straight slasher film, except for the whole "he's come for the children" thing. It that respect it worked and holds it's own as a fun slasher flick. Josiah got wasted a bit too soon for my liking though.

I haven't seen Part 3 yet because fucking Blockbuster doesn't have it, but I at least got the pleasure of watching Part 4, which to me is the best of the entire series. It had plenty of gore and interesting characters, but you're right Undertaker, Josiah was wasted far too soon.

Part 3 was fun to watch. An over the top, dumb, cheese fest. The stop motion demon at the end was a laugh.

I have only watched the original and it was below the average.
