People, peaple, we're talking about THE BEST HOOROR MOVIE OF ALL TIME! IT was good, but it is VERY far from the best horror movie ever. The shining is a good pick. But there really isn't ONE single best horror movie because we all have different opinions. Our FAVORITES would probably be more accurate (but garanteed to be closed down).

In my opinion, the original version of The Haunting is the best and scariest horror movie ever. When that door started moving, I was sold.

Psycho's also a very good horror movie, but the first time I saw it, I didn't like it, so I cannot call it the best horror film ever. That's the same with The Shining.

So I forgot to pick the best one, I would have to say the best is... Wow this is tough... The Exorcist, although my favorite is A Nightmare on Elm Street.

CLOWNHOUSE, in my opinion, with PHANTASM a very close second.

PSYCHO is the best, in my opinion. To this day, it still scares me more than any other movie. HALLOWEEN is definitely second.... I don't really see how THE EXORCIST is scary. I think of it more is "freaky." If there had been a little more action in THE EXORCIST then I think it would've been scary. It was also slow and boring at some points. But some people feel the same way about PSYCHO.

I use to think The Exorcist was the best of horror...but anymore...it seems way overrated...and not as scary. The Entity starring Barbara Hersey is based on the trus story of Carla Moran and in my book, it doesn't get the credit it deserves. It's about a woman who is repeatedly "attacked" by an unseen demon in her own home. Very chilling...and a great movie. So is has my vote for the best....it's the only horror movie I can watch that still scares me.

Night of The Living Dead. Original, ahead of its time, atmospheric, scary, good acting, awsome story, uses the most from its budget, gross, gory, is a lot smarter than it seems, entertaining, stylish, classic, the first and best flesh eating zombie film, and not the camp fest that the sequal was.
