Dir: Ken Russell / Writer: Stephen Volk who penned the awesome GhostWatch. British.
The soundtrack to this film is a tour de force, kinda like Suspiria in that it is very very loud, but is more electronic. The visuals are very stylish.
The film is about the stormy night that Mary Shelley spent with the famed sexual deviant Lord Byron and conceived the idea for her novel Frankenstein.
After an initial bout of sexual pranks and recounted ghost stories the assembled friends decide to hold a seance to create a monster. Unfortunately their attempts seem to prove successful and the evening turns into a nightmarish night of drug fuelled chaos and madness.
Gabriel Byrne is in his element as Lord Byron who delights in introducing the young innocents to the darker side of their nature.
