Horror master Wes Craven dilvers the goods in his ultra violent debut. The story of 2 girls who go to the big city to a concert and get kidnaped by killers who take them into the woods and tourtre, rape, and kill them. David Hess is very belivilbe as Krug. I rank that charector up with Hannibal Lector. This is better than I spit on your Grave. Notice the fact the Hess's chactor's name is Krug. Craven directed Nightmare on Elm Street. Freddy Kruger. Krug. Kruger. Last House on the Left. It's 9.

I would have to disagree. Last House on the Left was decent and I loved the ending, but I spit on your grave actually repulsed me to the point where I considered turning the whole damn thing off. LHOTL may have the edge in film-making quality, but ISOYG got it's anti-rape message across much better and the film still sticks with me.

the other Craven's movies were Disney movies compare to this one, that's for sure !!
I remember when the young guy shoots himself because of his father, gruesome !!
The scenes with the two annoying cops were not useful at all.
the rape scene is very disturbing !!

This is a killer film and ranks amoung Wes' finest work. It is much better than I spit, and makes you wonder what the fuck happened to Wes.

Last House on the Left is INDEED Cravens' best film.It took Import Distribution to release the scenes where Krug Carves his name on Mary's Chest and Phyliss' Intestine Pulling Scene..scenes Craven thought were too Disturbing to release initially...scenes that should have been left intact in the domestic release.

OMG!, I saw this film buying in to all the hype that it gets on the internet (just like it is here) and I was completely disappointed
Just because a director tries to make a film "disturbing" doesn't mean that it is a good film...
I can go out with a video camera and film people being killed on the streets of NYC but that wouldn't make it a good film!
The acting in Last House is atrocious, the cops make no sense in the story at all, and what is the deal with the retarded folk music at the beginning?!?, I thought I had mistakenly rented a 70's porno...
I will say that the rape scenes are disturbing, but so what??? the ending isn't as good as it is cracked up to be, and the only thing I can commend this movie for is the fellatio scene, (ouch!!)
Bottom line, this movie made an hour and a half feel like 3 hours, and this film is the one that made me skeptical about all the "cult classics" that everybody goes out of their way to kiss the ass of on the internet...I don't mean to be an asshole, but come on people, do you really enjoy watching this movie????
It just seems like the whole "punk rock" syndrome...like if a major studio puts out a movie than it's automatically crap, and "gone mainstream", I mean I'm all for giving credit to cult classics, I have my own that I enjoy, but not every movie that cost 5 thousand dollars to make is a good film...
