I would categorize "Psycho" as a horror movie. Hitchcock movies that fall into the chiller category would probably be films like "Rear Window," "Dial M For Murder," "Vertigo," and "Frenzy." Whatever you want to call it, it was certainly groundbreaking! From Bernard Herrman's score to Anthony Perkins performance to Hitchcock's magnificent directing, this baby's got 'em all! (By the way, the only other Hitchcock movie that usually falls into the horror category is "The Birds" - Hitch's follow-up to Psycho).

its a slasher film, so yes, its a horror movie. I loved Anthony Perkins's and Janet Leigh's performances. Also the score is awsome. The gore isnt that good, but it was 41 years ago.
