what do you think about this giallo from Argento ?
Good music from the Goblins !! sadistic and raw, too !!
teeth smashed against the corner of a table, man grabbed by a truck and then has his head smashed by a car !! amazing !!
good camera work, very good angles !!
a must - see giallo

I just managed to snag myself an uncut copy (most of argento's work is banned here) on e-bay, as well as TWO EVIL EYES. Can't wait to see it, just can't wait!

this is one of Argento's finest, his second best as only Suspiria can top it. i use to watch on the shitty butchered american video I hgad all the time, but when I saw the uncut DVD I found out all the awesome shit i had been missing. Argento's a genius, if you have any doubt see this freakin awesome movie.

4/4

Argento's Best in my Opinion.I have 3 copies of this gem..One being in Italian Language only titled Proffondo Rosso.I believe this is the longest version of the film available.

Probably the best pound for pound Argento movie(story, plot, acting, gore, tension, motives). Why isn't it my favorite is because the movie moves a bit slow in the middle. But Sill better than Opera or Inferno, I think those are his two most over-rated. 3.5 out of 4

Just picked up the 2 set DVD of Deep Red and Tenebre, and both are excellent.

Now that I've seen it... Good, very good movie. A lot of things make perfectly no sense in this movie ( why is the killer always playing that child song???? I doubt anybody was ever killed by boiling water ) and I'm getting a little tired of Argento's "It's a False Conclusion" thing but I can't deny all the classiness behind this movie. 7/10

I'm a huge DA fan. Suspiria is my favorite overall. Deep Red & Bird w/ the Crystal Plumage are tied for second.
Does anyone know when the new one is coming to DVD in the US?

Hi Jason!

I also think she wrote "It was" but hey, that isn't exactly an evidence or a reason for the killer to murder the next person. Who cares, not many people watch Argento movies for the plot and I like this movie even if it makes no sense to me in places. In Fact, half of the plot passed me by because my copy is half-italien, half-german. Shittin' ass censors!

Argento is definitely aquired taste, I often find myself shaking my head on the first viewing of his movies and liking them a lot more on the second. Even "Two Evil Eyes" sort of grew on me while watching it again (but only Argento's story, Romero's story only got worse). I wish I could find more of his work but pretty much everything is banned here. German TV was once shameless enough to send OPERA.... in an 62-minutes version.

All copies of DEEP RED (as far as I know) are in Italian and English or whatever language of the country you are in. There is no copy that is just Italian or English/other.
