Check this out:

NO it's not Anakin that amazed me. It is the soldiers behind him! don't they look tooooo "The Earth Stood Still"-esque? Do you think they will look that shity/but cool in the movie? It's kinda primitive for a movie in the 21century! But they are cool!

I wouldn't worry too much about it, being that it's only the cover for a junior novelization.

No I have seen those troopers before in other areas they should look like that in the flick.

They look more like Cylons to me.

We shall see.

Related to Stormtroopers, you be the judge!

No sarcasm involved. Perhaps the show wasn't that big here in the U.K, I don't know. I've never heard of them before. I actually thought they were from Transformers or something shite like that.

You must be kidding!

Battlestar Galactica was Huge! But I will not go into it here as it was a TV show.

Maybe once the movie comes out, if ever I will enlighten you.

Here is another pic of the New Troopers.

Even though Episode II is set ten years after Episode I, i'm still very suprised at the speed to which the design of the troopers changed.
They went from feeble grass hoppers into this. It'll save them a lot of animating anyways - They're men in costumes after-all. Although, they'll be heavily CGI'd for the battles I should expect.

Another thing that bothers me: If these troopers evolve, they should get better right? Well, there is definately a massive battle at the end of Episode II - How come they kill hundreds of masterfully skilled Jedi, but in episodes 4 to 6 they can't shoot for shit?

Ya ak I agree with that point that is one of the flaws of making prequels when you never really planned on it.

I always thought the battle droids appeared more advanced than the original stormtroopers.

The only thing I can think is that there will be thousands of clonetroopers against a small number of jedi and they will be like ants killing a frog, just to many of them to counter.

But you are right about the original SW movies, they were feared elite troops but they always missed even when there where twenty troopers attacking only a few people.

Maybe as the clones progress thru generation after generation their genes degrade and they become like low paid rent a cops.

I also think it is strange that the entire body of the clonetrooper looks basically the same just the helmet is changed. Cost effective I guess with all those old stormtrooper costumes lying around.

We shall have to see how he explains it all I guess.

Hey guys, do the words "Death Star" ring a bell?

I mean, maybe the Clone troopers won't have anything to do with killing the Jedis. Maybe it'll be some sort of secret weapon...like the Death Star, in some sort.

And maybe I sound a little stupid here but -- isn't Vader the one who is supposed to have killed all the Jedis???

Come on guys. I think the cover looks pretty cool myself. Sure the stromtropper things look kinda 70s-ish but that is what Satr Wars is. It was made in 77 after all.
Remeber this is a prequel and it's surposed to show how things in the universe developed over the years. We aren't going to see amazing looking stormtroopers cause it would give us the impression that the universe has gone to sh!t.
Take Episode 1 for example. The Naboo fighter weren't amazing cause it would have made the X-Wings look like crap.
I think that Lucas has leanrt his lession with Episode 1 and will make this one even better. Afterall the first movie was happy-go-lucky like TPM. The next two sholud be great.
And one more thing. For those who don't want to see Jar Jar in the this movie. Bad news! He's back! You can see him in the trailer wearing a rope. Now I know that I have stuck up for Lucas here but if he has written Jar Jar in as being a Jedi, I may kill him.

The '50s Attack of the Clones poster has just become my new desktop wallpaper. That's just too awesome for words. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Isn't it cute that Battlestar Galactica was a direct rip-off of the original Star Wars, and now Lucas has ripped off a design from Battlestar Galactica?

Yes the synchronisity of it is just fasinating to say the least.

If you want more funky AOTC parady posters go to www.theforce.net (http://www.theforce.net) and check out the episode II humor section that is where I found the poster I put up here.

I must admit I like the X-wing better than the Naboo fighter but if you put them side by side most would pick the X-wing as the more primative ship, the Naboo fighter looks very modern.

Maybe there is going to be a techno loss during AOTC that shifts everything back hundreds of years.

Yeah, and Jean Paul, Jar Jar is NOT going to be a Jedi. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif I read somewhere that Lucas made him more mature, and he has some kind of job in the administration -- maybe we'll see Jar Jar as Senator of the Gungans???

I think the trade federation learned their lesson in TPM about droids controlled by a mother ship: Lose the ship and the droids are useless. That is why I think humanoids (clones) are used in place of droids after the end of TPM, so they can function without the help of a master computer.

BTW that poster is so friggin hilarious!

"Make them clones cry uncle!"

That's good news. I thought for a while that Mr. Lucas whould have done it. That sounds pretty good that Jar Jar matures. But you can't blame me for worrying. Did you ever see the comic called Skippy the Jedi droid? Trust me, if you've seen that you worry, alot!

First note: There is definately a big battle between the Jedi and Clone Troopers at the end of the film. The info leaked out with the controversy over N-Sync being in the film, and being killed off in literally a split second.
Also, a picture of the new Art Of: Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones book was on the net recently, with a picture by Doug Chiang of the clones blasting their guns in a massive battle.

Second Note: When Obi Wan said Vader killed the Jedi, I don't think he meant it was him single-handedly, might be his force behind it, but it's a hard one to work out, and we still have one more episode to come after this in which to explain it all......

***** SPOILERS*****
ak - but remember, when Obi-wan said that Vader hunted down and murdered the Jedi and that he betrayed and murdered Luke's father. But later, when it was revealed that Vader was Luke's father, Obi-Wan told him that what he said was true, from a certain point of view. So could Vader/Anakin killing the Jedi also from his slanted point of view? We'll have to wait and see, but I'm thinking that no matter what we think, it will all come down to GL's POV.

Well, ak -- those are good points. I guess the only way to know is to see the movie. But if Vader really wiped out the Jedi single handedly, I'm telling you, I wanna see him fight Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, Yoda and all those other Jedis all at once. Now that would be cool. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
