I visited a blooper/out-take/in-joke website earlier today, where I read that in "Urban Legend" there's a Freddy Krueger doll in Prof. Wexler's study (who's portrayed by Freddy himself, Robert Englund).

This inspired me to get the film out of my collection and watch it again to look out for this (I just love in-jokes). Couldn't see it anywhere.

Has anyone else who's seen Urban Legend spotted this? The poster on the other site said it was fairly obvious, but after a few re-winds I still couldn't see it.

Can anyone tell me where in Prof. Wexler's study this doll is reputed to be?

It's in the bit where De Witt and Leto break into his study looking for evidence and they go into an adjoining stockroom which houses stage props.

Thanx, malaria. Upon a repeated viewing, I saw something in the scene you mention that looks like a Freddy puppet on strings. No hat, but the trademark striped jumper.

Guess I'm not used to seeing Freddy without his hat and bladed glove.

Where's this site at that you were on?

I can't recall the exact place I found the Urban Legend in-jokes - I found it on a Yahoo search and stupidly didn't bookmark it - but there's another site I visit, www.nitpickers.com (http://www.nitpickers.com) . Mainly nitpicks about film plot and characters, but there are also bloopers and in-jokes pointed out there too.

I'll let you know here if I find the other place again.

Wow, I have watched Urban Legend so many times and I've never noticed that. I'll watch that scene you mentioned again right now.
