Who doesn't think Universal Monster Movies are as great as they are made out to be? I loved THE INVISIBLE MAN, and FRANKENSTEIN, but DRACULA, and THE MUMMY bored me. THE WOLF MAN did not live up to my expectations, but was wasn't bad.

While they're not as scary as today's slashers and monsters, many of the Universal horror classics from the early days of cinema can be appreciated for the combined star power of Lugosi, Karloff and Chaney...as well as the underappreciated directorial work of George Waggner, Tod Browning and especially the great James Whale.
