View Full Version : Great Taglines

the night watchman

Taglines are like movie slogans. For instance, "Alien's" is "In Space No One Can Here You Scream."

Others:

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: "Who Will Survive and What Will Be Left of Them?"

Phantasm: "If This One Doesn't Scare You, You're Already Dead."

Near Dark: "Pray For Daylight"

Re-Animator: "Herbert West Has a Good Head on His Shoulders. And Another One On His Desk."

The Fly: "Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid."

From Beyond: "Humans Are Such Easy Prey."

An early poster for "Alien" had this:
"A Word of Warning ... Alien"

Cameron devised a tagline when he wrote the screenplay for "Aliens": "Sometimes Survival Isn't Enough." (Much better than the blah "This Time It's War.")

Army of Darkness: "Trapped in Time. Surrounded by Evil. Low on Gas."

Can you guys think of any more?

And I still love HALLOWEEN's original tagline: The Night HE Came Home...which suggests a stand-alone movie about The Bogeyman rather than the start of a rather inconsistent horror film series (1, 2 and H20 ruled, and would have made a great trilogy; 4 and 5 were OK; 3 was a separate flick; and 6 sucked!).
