I kind of posted this in upcoming horror movies too but I guess it belongs better in here,....anyway, are there any horror remakes that any of you actually like better than the original?

I wouldnt' go as far as liking it better than the original, but for the ones that can definitely stand with it's original:

The Thing
Village of the Damned
Night of the Living Dead
The Fly
House on Haunted Hill
13 Ghosts was pretty decent

ONES TO AVOID:

Psycho

and alot more, i just cant think of them right now.

Yeah the Psycho remake really blew chunks, even with Vince Vaughn in it, what a waste of my time it was to watch that.

The last thing I needed to see was Vince Vaughn masturbating.

I absoultely hated Anne Heche as Marion Crane.

The whole time, her acting made me feel like she was mocking the character.

The only person in the movie I liked was William H. Macy, only because I love everything he does.

Anyways,the re-make of Psycho wasn't all that bad. I just hated Anne Heche,because everytime I would see her face,all I think of is her Ex-Girlfriend Ellen. Eww.

The "Psycho" remake was one of the most boring movies I ever saw, at least the first part. Only a mildly interesting second half can save it from the scrapheap.

Ouch.. I wouldnt say it was boring so much as it was mindless, imaginationless drivel. If they were going to remake a classic they should have tackled it full force instead of doing a lame scene by scene upgrade. That was just not cool.

The cat People is OK. King Kong was decent at best. Psycho is not only the worst remake, it is one of the worst movies EVER.

Another remake to aviod is House on Haunted Hill.

Im not a big fan of remakes. See the originals. Why dont they take crappy films and remake them BETTER???? Hmmmm, theres a bright concept but then again Hollyweird isnt that bright to begin with. Instead they take great films and make them shittier.
I CANT BELIEVE they Richard P Rubenstein( that prick) is remaking Dawn of the Dead. Romero has NOTHING to do with it. First it was the classic Psycho, now Dawn. What is this world coming to.
