I wanted to get some opinions on some older horror movies. What do you guys think about:
1. The Mummy (1932)
2. The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
3. The Horror of Dracula (1958)
4. Carnival of Souls (1962)
Thanks.

The Mummy - never one of my favorites groing up.
Creature from the Black Lagoon - No bad, it has acutally been so long since I've seen it I can't offer much help.
Horror of Dracula - Best one you listed IMHO. Cushing and Lee together in most many movie make for somehting great.
Carnival of Souls - Have not seen, but is high on my list when I have some extra free time.

Thought Horror of Dracula was the best. Then probably Carnival(although it moves very slow).

I always liked the Creature from The Black Lagoon. Definitely the most original creature in the great day that was the 1950's.
There was some talk years back that a remake was in effect by either John Carpenter or Stan Winston, but nothing ever happened (shame) http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif
The original Mummy (1932) was cool, as just about anything with Boris Karloff is fun to watch, he's so menacing!
As to the Dracula question, it was always fun to see Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee play opposites. A good time every time.
I saw Carnival of Souls a while back but couldn't quite get into it, but I did meet the star of the original film one time. Her name is Candace Hilligoss, and she looks just as good now as she did back in '62 http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

The Mummy and The Creature from the Black Lagoon are great movies even today. I respect all the Universal monsters, but I love Hammer horror films so much more. Carnival of Souls was pretty cool, too. I have no in depth analysis for any of these films right now because I just spilled my coffee all over my lap http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif fuck
