What's the weiredest movie you've ever seen that could be considered horror? I'd have to say Eraserhead. That thing was actually pretty disturbing, with some really repulsive images that I consider to be of the horror genre, even thought the movie's plot is not very classifiable.

I'm with you, Renny! ERASERHEAD rocked the fucking HOUSE!
Honorable mentions include THE REFLECTING SKIN and AFRAID OF THE DARK.
The weirdest thrillers include FIGHT CLUB, LOST HIGHWAY, DEAD RINGERS, CRASH and VANILLA SKY.

Tetsuo - Iron Man (1988) is quite grotesque, and so is eXistenZ (I'm not sure if eXistenZ qualifies as horror, though.)

I would say Perfect Blue ( an amime movie but a really good one !! )
Okay it is an anime but it is so well done that you don't care about that.
Think about Akira or Jin Roh.

Wow, somebody else has heard of the Reflecting Skin! That is one of those rare horror movies that actually gives me a queasy feeling when I watch it, the whole atmosphere of that flick was just slimy and perverse. Also, if you can find it, check out Dr. Caligari, another great flick nobody has ever heard of.

I agree with The Item. The storyline is incoherent and the plot twists are way out there, but I still enjoyed it. Cemetery Man is also very unpredictable and bizarre. It starts out like a somewhat normal zombie movie and then decapitated heads are scurrying across the ground singing love songs. Good stuff!

Does anyone remember Anguish? That one's got the midget psychic chick from Poltergeist and the producer (or was he the director?) in Barton Fink.
*spoilers*
The first half of this movie is really a movie being watched by this chick being stalked in the movie theatre by the same guy on screen. Or something like that. It's been a while, but the psycho cuts out the eyeballs of his victims for some reason, and I remember alot of weird pseudo-hypnosis scenes. At the end it turns out that the chick being stalked in the movie theatre is really just another movie being watched by other people.
I'm delighted that others here have noted The Reflecting Skin. An actor from Lord of the Rings (that Viggo guy from G.I. Jane and the Psycho remake) is in it, and even does a nude scene (for those who're interested). I remember this movie from film school and never forgot that infamous frog scene, the dead baby, and the dad who lit himself on fire. Very stark and unusual, it's worth a look from adventurous movielovers.

I don't know if you'd classify Peter Jackson's Meet The Feebles as horror, but it definitely is a wierd movie.
