Well, I just saw Dead Alive last night. This has to be one of the most F<cked up horror movies I ever seen, it was goofy, a little freaky and I found it fun to watch, a little gross (A BIG PLUS), and needless to say a laugh riot with the kiddy zombie. This movie definately ranks up there in my favorite cheesit horror movies.

It's hard to believe that Peter Jackson has gone from splatter classics like Dead Alive and Bad Taste, to something as gargantuan and big-budgeted as Lord of the Rings. Talk about versatile!

yeah i often think how strange that is. its abit weird how the us has a shorter version of braindead (dead/alive) than the uk. its mostly the opisate way arouind with films.

I love this movie!!! I like crazy stuff like that. I just got an uncut version on laserdisc that has japanese subtitles, This version features the following scenes that are cut from most versions for rent.
1. Close-up of New Zealand flag and queen riding horse
2. Uncle Les hits on Paquita at Mother's funeral
3. Zombie baby attacks Lionel but get's it's unbilical cord caught on a nail
4. At party, a guest lets Void out of the basement and gets a headbut for his trouble
5. During the party, Void attacks a guest and Lionel hits him with a liquor bottle
6. After the zombies are let out of the basement, they chase a man with glasses, catch and bite him
7. Vicar and nurse zombies impale each other on a pitchfork but continue to have sex
8. at least 30 seconds of extra gore in lawnmower sequence including demise of the vicar and nurse, zombies who are STILL having sex
9. Before Lionel comes in with the lawnmower, Paquita and her friend are attacked by Void's severed legs and a bunch of zombies. They each grab a leg, pull them apart and use the legs to hit the zombies.
(I goofed. This comes before #8)
Also If you like this movie, you need to check out a japanese movie dubbed in english called The Story Of Ricky, talk about some insane funny ass gore!!!!! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Great film, a big favourite of mine. I'm glad the Australian version of the film is the uncut one, the standard US edition sounds kind of butchered. It 100% isn't meant to be taken seriously.

WHY?!?!?!
I rented this fodder a few weeks ago to see some of Jackson's other stuff, including the famous "Dead Alive."
I do not know why people hold this film right up there with the Evil Dead Trilogy. It was SO PAINFUL to watch!
But I guess that's me...

I thought this was an awesome movie, with some good deaths in it (the nurse for example, lol). It's got some great characters including a vicar who 'kicks arse for the lord' and a fat bastard Uncle Les who has a painful experience with Lionel's mom (ouch http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif). Tons of blood, tons of zombies, tons of fun, this is one of my favourite zombie flicks, right up there with Dawn of the Dead and Zombie Flesh Eaters.

I don't mean to sound smug but the American version is for kids and the UK one RRRUUULES!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Ahem, this probably the only time this has ever happened so forgive me for being quietly amused. Who the hell was on the clasification panel? The Waltons? LOL.
You yankee prudes you.
