I have a small question to ask, is the MGM movie time version of Phantasm the definitve version or is there a unrated version of the movie floating around out there? Last of all is the MGM moive time version worth the 12 $ i saw it on sale for?

Who cares. I thought Phantasm was a sad excuse for a movie. If you want my opinion, don't waste time or cash on this film.

MGM's '98 re-release has a remastered soundtrack and has 2 cut scenes which run for 4 minutes combined. They run after the movie. The regular running time is 88 minutes. $12 isn't bad if you're a fan of the movie.
