View Full Version : Who would like to kill off the MPAA?
I can't stand the MPAA! Those rat bastards
don't know what makes goo horror films. If
it's too scary, it gets edited, if it's too
gory, it gets edited, and if it has too much
blood, it gets edited. I'd LOVE to kill off
those fucking pieces of shit, they're always
sticking their noses when most people don't want them ragging about their film. I SAY....
KILL EM ALL!

I don't want to kill the MPAA, I'd just like to fix it so it works better. I just saw "3000 Miles to Graceland," a bloody, gory movie with an eight-year old sitting just five seats down from me. How was he let in?
Adults should be allowed to see adult movies. Negligent parents should not be allowed to bring their offspring to those movies just because they couldn't find a babysitter.
Art doesn't corrupt children. People corrupt children.

I want to kill them all - but then again, saying that makes it sound like they are right in cutting some scenes - because the gore that we are left with is enough to influence us and make us say stuff like'kill them all'!
So i'll just say, let's give them a jolly good slap.

I want to kill them all because i don't like how they cut up good films so i want to kill them all. censorship is evil.
I know, but it's only talkin' shit, but when
horror films are made, I wish the MPAA would
just mind their own fucking business! They do
NOT know what makes horror films!! Too much
red blood is bad, too much chopped limbs is
bad, too many scary scenes is bad. when I sit
there and think of it, all in all, in their
fucked up opinion, too much horror movies is
bad. If they DON'T like it, IGNORE it! Leave
the scare and gore for those that DO! They
get so damn loud and opinionated that it just
makes me sick! If I win the lottery, you can
expect an independent film, with a good plot,
acting and tons of gore that'll make the MPAA
shit bricks and I WON'T be there to wipe 'em
clean! LMAO!

The MPAA deserves at least an ass-kicking for the butchering of CHERRY FALLS, which was a much better film than VALENTINE or URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT, but was reduced to a USA Network showing and an edited video version. Shame on those bastards!

I have a special reserved hatred that I only unleash when it comes to the MPAA. The MPAA needs to be abolished. They are the death of creativity. I don't think that it is right for ANYONE to tell me what I need to see and what I don't need to see. It's a complete infringement on our freedom. Maybe we all need to hold an Anti-MPAA rally. LOL!
But, I guess if you keep it independent and DYI, you have nothing to worry about. Hell Yeah

MPAA and the PTC (parents TV something) I send all these ididots hate-mail. Censorphip is the worst thing on earth.
There was also another fanatic group that was
getting all their hangups with censorship and
control. It mainly delved in metal mmusic and
a TAD bit in film. THE PMRC(something mothers
something censorship)was those irritatingly
annoying fuckin' whores that banned 106.7
metal station in Chicago and other states as
well. Slayer took care of them but not before
they did a lot of damage. The radio station
was done, a lot of metal and movies suffered
from those bitches and now they've been gone
for a long time. Thank GOD Gore didn't get
elected president! TIPPI GORE was the one of
the ones resposible for this censorship crap
we had to deal with! All we can do is keep a
loud voice and detest! KILL CENSORSHIP!!!

Where people are allowed freedom of speech and the like, censorship somehow finds a way to creep into movies. The MPAA will take movies apart for being extremely gory and violent or containing too much sex and effectively ruin the director's or screen-writer's original concept. I hate the MPAA and know that it can only get worse with so many organizations blaming the entertainment industry for ruining the youth of this world. I say piss off! You don't like it, don't watch it. Any kid or person who they think gets messed up from watching a violent movie was probably messed up to begin with.

I've hated the MPAA for many years now,and my hatred has only grown stronger when I watched Cherry Falls.I wish they would stop fucking with violence in movies.
Oh! Well you wanna know WHY don't you? If it
weren't for these stupid fuckin' cocksucking
PARENTS letting their 8 and 9 year old KIDS
to see movies like Hannible and or fucked up
shit where they will actually WHINE over the
fact the kids are having NIGHTMARES. Really,
you DON'T SAY?????? People like that are the
overbearing fact that stupidity is the norm,
and seems to think that retardation is an
acceptable form of intelligence(or LACK of)a
person needs. These people need to purchase a
Winchester, point it to their heads and pull
the trigger. Anyone who's THAT fuckin DUMB,
there is just no hope. And THIS is ONE of the
main contributing factors that the MPAA is
around. Maybe if ignorance is dealt with and
common sense prevails, the MPAA would not be
around so much. *FILMS+RETARDS=MPAA* This is
about the only way I can sum it up.

Hey, our censors are the best we have ever had in this country (that Whittam-Smith, i really apprieciate it!) they are re-releasing many previously banned movies, and looking at more relevent issues! where as in the US it looks like they are getting worse!
Did u know that they cut the scene from American Psycho when Christian Bale looks into the mirror when hes shagging the hooker, but they didnt mind any of the violence, or language, just the fact he looked into the mirror...madness!
Yeah, well, people are fucking stupid. Like
the fucking ingorant sons of bitches that
take their 7 and 8 year old kids to see films
like "Hannible" or "Days of End" and then,
for the the "shit-for-brain" lives of them,
they can't fuckin' figure out why the hell
their kids are having nightmares. These are
the type of people that should NOT have any
kids. The best way to make America a more
intellegent country, if you're stupid, DON'T
REPRODUCE, please!" Or maybe if they're near
boarderline, they MIGHT have a chance if they
open their eyes and wake up to see what is
going on around them. I hate the fact they
take these kids to a frighteningly scary and
gory film, and BITCH how their children are
AFTERWARDS. OH! Do you THINK?! It pisses me
off! It's THIS kind of stupidity that fuels
the MPAA into action. I say now, DON'T kill
off the MPAA, maybe beat the shit out of
stupid parents to make these retards wake the
fuck up! I mean, hey if they wanna take their
child to see a terrifying movie, okay, but
don't CRY about their nightmares, dumbass!

I have to agree with TomJ, even though, his conveyance of ideas was pretty vulgar...
I usually DON'T get THAT vulgar, but there's
one thing I CAN NOT stand, and that's BLATANT
ignorance. Also, followed by "Oh, it wasn't
ME that caused my child to be like this!" Oh
yeah, jackass? Then who? This is nothing more
than the bullshit cop-out way of passing the
buck in order to avoid being blamed. If my
father had ever caught me going to see a film
like that when I was a kid, he would've took
a belt and whooped my ass silly. Back then,
kids don't understand why they shouldn't see
a film like that. Now I do, for the fact that
film like that can scar a person. I just can
NOT stand listening to people harrass, bitch,
whine, and complain about things that were
actually someone's OWN fault than giving some
crapass lame excuse to lessen the blame from
them. It just makes me sick. These people
need to wake up and start taking blame for
their OWN actions, not passing the buck.

Although I do hate the MPAA and would like to run through one of their meetings with a chainsaw (Groovy). The bigger problem is the distributors. The MPAA does not force cuts to a movie, it simply gives it a rating (example: R or NC-17). It is the distributor who forces the director to make cuts to the movie in order to secure a softer rating. If only the distributors would stop beeing pussies and have the guts to market an NC-17 film I would be happier. If I made a good gory movie I would just say "Go ahead !! Give me the NC-17 rating. See if I care" But unfortunately my distributor (who refuses to market an NC-17 movie) would force me to make cuts in order to get the R rating. So let's not blindly blame everything on the MPAA (although they should all die) and spread it around for those who also diserve it.

My question is, how can movies like "Hannibal" and "Saving Private Ryan" get away with an easy R rating, when "American Psycho" is forced to trim scenes? The MPAA is biased, there can simply be no doubt. It should be made to conform to a check list, or some such thing. It sounds stupid, and it is stupid, but how do you get such a vague ratings system to work?
One bullet wound = PG-13
Two to five = R
Six or more = NC-17
It's ridiculous, but the alternative - "American Psycho" being forced to cut, in spite of off-screen violence, while "Hannibal" is left unmolested with R, while showing a man eating his own brain - is absurd.
I've got a little bit of info for you guys,
it ain't "NC17". That's a rating they give a
film if there's excess nudity. The films you
wanna keep an eye out for are the "NR" films
that have all the gore intact. All the Fulchi
films that I've rented that had none of the
gore cut has the "NR" tag on the box. I know
that a lot of pre-70's films have the "NR"
tags on em cause the rating system wasn't as
high strung as it is today. But as for newer
horror films, any time I see that "NR" tag
on the box, I welcome it with open arms. The
MPAA and film distributors are all faggots,
they don't know what horror films are. They
don't know, but WE do!

I think the MPAA is too strict on R-rated movies. They don't allow much violence & nudity anymore like they used to! You know it should be like it says:"Under 17 Not Admitted Without Parent." Well, if parnets don't want their kids seeing things like this they should RESEARCH THE MOVIE & GET MORE INFORMATION ON IT.

Actually, even then, chain video stores will have reservations about carrying copies of some hardcore indie horror flick, and there is always the task of getting a good deal with a distribution company.

If there was a petition I could sign to stop them I would, but I have the feeling that no matter how much we bitch and cry they won't go away, but there's no denying they do pick on horror.
Personally I think we should count ourselves lucky that we aren't a edited as some countries(especially Engaland). At least I can watch uncut dvds that keep the movie in tact instead of having some 80 year old bastard deciding what I can see.

I watched The Exorcist, Cannibal Hollocaust, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday The 13th and alot of other really violent movies before then age of 10...
Did I became violent or agressive. Not at all! I never got into a fight during my whole high school years... and I was not in any evil cult or anything.
You know, it's wrong to censor anything to me. I have a older friend of 38 years old that share the same passion then me for horror movies. He have 2 kids, one of 9, one of 12. His boy of 9 years old simply love horror movies. His favorite movie ever is Dead Alive. His father make him understand the cinema is faking all that, that all he see is visual effects... The childrens are not dumb, they can understand when you talk to them about those things. I am a huge fan of horror movies since I'm 7 and I never have been censored in my tastes by my parents. At 9, I got to the theatre to see Hellraiser with my mother and it is one of my greatest souvenir hehe.
I think the MPAA is just wrong. They can go fuck themself as you all mention. Let the parents decide what their kids should and should not see. I will never censor the tastes of my children. If they like brutal metal music and gore cinema... well, that will be good, cause that's what I like too.
I agree with Evil Ash. Americans moan and moan about the MPAA but you can still by the unrated versions of films on DVD can't you? You don't realise how lucky you are. Over here in Britain they can still take you to court for owning an uncut copy of Re Animator, Henry: POSK, Last House on the Left and several others. And we are your allies in the free world!

Kind of a duplicate topic, we know the MPAA is a pain in the ass so they don't need multiple threads......
