Clint Eastwoods "Play Misty For Me" (8/10) is in no way a horror film.

It is however an excellent thriller that was 15 years ahead of its time, inspiring the likes of Fatal Attraction(6/10)

Although I don't consider it horror either, I also very much recommend Play Misty for Me.
First & foremost, it was a great start to Clint Eastwood's directing career. It also has one of his finest performances. Jessica Walter & Donna Mills are also great with their respective roles as the psychopath & girlfriend.
It's easy to see why this masterpiece inspired such lame a$$ thrillers as Fatal Attraction, Poison Ivy, The Crush, Fear, & The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.

It is not horror as the others have said, but it is a great movie except for the love scene which plays a really gay ass song that they used to use for old fart oil of olay commercials from the early 80's. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif

The chick that played the nut did a good job, actually my ex coworker reminded me alot of her! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif

I'd give it a 8. A good thriller. The first of the "had an affair with a psycho" movies and one of the best. Probably the best movie with Clint playing just a normal person.

Excellent psychothriller from the 70's, which later "inspired" FATAL ATTRACTION, PLAY MISTY FOR ME was a great directorial debut for the film's star, Clint Eastwood. B+

...from the 70's. I give it a 7/10. It is really worth a watch to see how this great director started. A director that will bring masterpieces later on such as Bird, Unforgiven, The Outlaw Josey Wales, etc.

I love this movie, love the 70's soundtrack and Cint Eastwoods hair, it cracks me up. I saw it for the first time when i was about 12 and was shit scared by the end of the movie. Those shots of the screaming woman coming out of the darkness freaked me out.

Again, while not a horror film as such, Misty could be almost classed as a psychological stalker flick, and a forerunner of the likes of Fatal Attraction and the numerous rip-offs. Clint is great (as always) and in his directorial debut managed to craft an effective little shocker.

Highly recommended viewing.

QUEBEC-JOEL, like Grady in THE SHINING, I "corrected" my mistake(s)...PLAY MISTY FOR ME is indeed a 1970's flick, but has the FEEL of a 60's psychothriller (much like PSYCHO, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? and THE INNOCENTS before it), it was the first of a specific sub-genre (in this case, the "girlfriend from hell" category).
