I cannot understand how Children Of The Corn gets more sequels. Do the sequels actually make money. How can they with so many bad reviews out there for all of them.

I actually own all 6 movies (Revelation isn't available yet in England), and I personally think 1, 2, & 6 r the best and the rest are just below average. But I just cannot understand with all the reviews out there that they stil plan to make mre sequels. I heard that an eighth one is on the way.

I think enough is enough. The franchise of good as it is but its started to become watered down 2 much.

I agree gellar,

I feel that they cash in on one good film to start it all off, then they spend the rest of the time suckering the audience into thinking that the rest of the movies are going to be like the first one. That is one series in may eyes that I really hope they have deep-sixed. Not to mention with other pitiful franchises like The Howling, Silent Night Deadly Night, the world heavyweight champion of pitiful franchises: The Amityville franchise. Who actually watches that stuff for them to cash in enough to keep making those direct to video heaps? Am I wrong?

I didn't even like the original, so I won't touch any of the sequels. The franchise must be making some amount of money, otherwise the series would be dead. I'm with you two, though. I don't know how the COTC films are conjuring up any dough. It doesn't seem to have a small cult following like the Leprechaun series does to keep the sequels flooding in. Maybe the filmmakers actually think they're making important contributions to the genre. Ha!

The original was alright and after that they went downhill, so I don't too much care for the series.

The COTC series isn't THAT bad. It's better than the Leprecahun,Howling or Amityville series. The original will always have a special place in my collection. Along with Child's Play 2 it was my first horror movie. Also the original has the ever sexy Linda Hamilton http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I only saw the original and I really don't want to endure all these sequels. How well are they doing? Does Miramax/Dimension really think it's worth the time and money to invest in them? One of the higher-ups must be a big horror/Stephen King nut. I think King himself hated the orignal, so he disowned the franchise long ago.

Another thing: why wait nine years to make part 2? If the original did well enough, you'd think New World would try squeeze this cash cow before going under.

Its weired aint it. Every time I go to choices video store, there always seems to be another new one on the shelve!! I don't particualy like it. The thought of kide killing was good but I don't like the supernatural side of it- so unrealistic. Also the actors are unknown and the kids in one I saw looked like they just come off the street!

I always wonder if it's really worth the payback the studios get with making another sequel to series like COTC, Amitiville or Witchcraft. I mean there's what, ELEVEN entries in the Witchcraft series and I have yet to read a even remotely positive review to any installment at all.

It's like somebody saying : Hey I'm bored, let's make another sequel to __________ ( insert sucking-franchise here)! We can't damadge any reputation because there is no reputation that could be damadged anymore and maybe a few people will like it ( or better : rent it).

I agree with most of Myers Child's points. I think I have seen the first. It was the one when the couple was driving along the road for ages.
