for what its worth I have noticed that many horror movies have used the same sound effect to represent the monster. Its been a while since I saw Day of the Triffids but it seems like the Triffids sounded like a bunch of locusts or cicadas if you please. The Thing remake also features this sort of sound and Pumpkinhead does as well.I must admit it is a very creepy sound and I can't blame them for using it.Are there any other movies you can think of that use this Locust/Cicada sound?

I CAN'T remember the Beast Within noise, but are you talking about that kind of intermittant Them noise?? (As in the 50's classic Them.)

Also, aren't we all sick TO DEATH of hearing that same guy screaming as he's falling loop???? EV-ry SIN-gle FREAKIN' time a guy falls from some steep distance, you hear it!
It's even on TV commercials and TV shows. You guys gotta know which one I mean.

Theres allways the scream that Howie Long does in Broken Arrow when his character is knocked off the train. That has got to be the most manly scream ever on film.

I know that sound effect. Even in non-horror movies when I hear it I know somone is going to die and it wont be quick and painless.

Plus there's the generic woman scream. The one that goes WAAAAAAAAAAAAA-HAAOO.

Or something.
