The Evil Dead definately. Saw it first when I was eleven. Needless to say I had a sleepless night that night. Thank God it was a weekend night. Kept on thinking that blood was going to run down my walls and my clock was going to run backwards. Still watch it every now and then on occasion.

First it was "The Gate", because I was seven and I was afraid that the zombie guy was going to come through my wall to get me. The other movie was "The Exorcist", because I was ten years old and I stayed away from that movie for four or five years after my experience. The funny thing is that I begged my parents over and over again to let me rent The Exorcist, and when they finally agreed, and when the movie was over, I was almost in a state of shock.

You will all laugh at this, but :

Prophecy (1979) The mutant bear in the Maine woods saga. I was 10 and hadn't witnessed a lot of gore yet. I saw lots of horror, but no real gore yet. Then I saw this. I never wanted to go into the woods again. I started having bear nightmares for weeks. Not mutant bears but just normal ravenous bears. I still do. I can watch the movie now, but honestly, I still get the willies when I think about going into the woods where there might be bears! I never wanted to see that movie again!!! I was petrified!!!

Honestly, these films don't exist however I must admit that Candyman, The Visitors ( a haunted house story ) and Blair Witch Project were really scary and impressive.
The Others, too.

MISFITS_fiend: After you saw Prophecy, did you swear you would never step foot in the woods of Maine? I did. And then I had to go on a family vacation to the east coast and I had TO GO TO MAINE! I had to spend a night in the FRIGGIN' WOODS OF MAINE FOR A NIGHT!
Then my uncle & I went for a walk down to the ocean front (which I considered was the safety net if I saw the monster) and on the way down we saw clawmarks on the tall MAINE TREES!!!!

I shit you not!!! I was twelve at the time, but man I was shaking!! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/eek.gif

When I was just a little kid I was really scared by Home Alone 2, and I stopped wachting it at the moment that guy got shocked. Still, there is no horrormovies that scared me so bad I didn't wana watch it again; when a movie really scares me, it's only a reason for me to see it again and again.

Theres a British film called Woman In Black that scared the shit out of me when I was a kid, 10 years later & its still the creepiest film I've ever seen.

Theres one scene where she makes a sudden & very unexpected appearance when a guys in bed & I was always looking round my bedroom for her after that lol.

Well, when I was a kid I rented Demons. I was only like 6 or 7 and I loved although it scared the hell out of me. But I still watched it over and over. Rented it like all the time. No movie scares me now.

I went on a camping trip with my parents when I was about 11 yrs old. One night we drove down to the local drive-in to catch a movie. It was Friday the 13th. I know now we all make fun of it for its cheesiness, but when you're a little kid and actually in the woods its the scariest thing you've ever seen.

Mine would definitely be the original PHANTASM(when I was like 8 years old.)I
remember watching the whole movie peeking thru my fingers.Sometimes I still imagine the "Tall Man" grabbing me through the mirror in the bathroom.
Also I recall a movie around that same time period called"the PLAGUE"I think.I remember this woman falling on the floor and going into violent convulsions. This terrified me as a child.

I've yet to find a movie that I won't watch again because it was too scary, but my wee brother won't watch Sleepaway Camp again for fear of seeing THAT ending.

The thing that used to scare the shit out of me wasin Phantasm when the kids in bed, the camera zooms back and he in the cemetary with the Tall Man above him.

This may sound stupid but when I was younger I saw THE WITCHES. It scared the shit out of me(Especailly the part w/ the lil girl in the painting). I haven't watched it since.

Well, I wasn't really scared, but I remember watching HELLRAISER 3 when I was young... all the gore really made me uneasy. Nowadays I loathe Pinhead and have vowed never to see a HELLRAISER film.

Also, when I was a kid, I stayed away from the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET films, particularly the third one. Freddy just scared the shit out of me. But then I watched it recently and found it incredibly cheesy.

Nowadays, I've gotten scared by the America Undercover AUTOPSY series on HBO... now that is some disturbing shit. Oh, and there's also this incredibly cheap thing filmed on a camcorder called ALIEN ABDUCTION, which, even though it's obviously fake, kept me awake for a whole night. Of course, I was watching it home alone at three in the morning with no lights... maybe that had something to do with it.

If a movie scares me, it doesn't make me not to watch it, it makes me want to watch it for. Very few movies do a good job of being creepy or even scary, so when I find one, I watch it 3-4 to enjoy the terror that it instils in me.

Decent horror movies involving religion can do this to me (Exorcist, Omen, Rosemary's Baby) and movies with a creepy killer (Halloween 1, 2 and 4 and Jeepers Creepers).

I don't give bad horror movies a second chance, but scary ones become my favorites.

Not a movie, but you know that bitch on Pet Sematary, she has a broken back or something. She scared the shit out of me. That was the only part in the movie that was scary to me. She has orange hair and she has a twisted back.

I've always been able to watch a scary movie a second time....but Candyman has me covering my eyes every time I watch it and leaves me unable to look fully into a mirror for a couple of days. And The Woman In Black gives me chills whenever I think about THAT scene.

THE EXORCIST

I read about it in a horror book in about 3rd grade and vowed never to watch it. Just seeing Linda Blair's possessed face scared the complete and utter hell out of me, and it still does. I'm now 16 (almost 17) I watched the last ten minutes of the film a couple weeks ago, and even then, I had to turn away and change the channel. Scary friggin movie.
