If they are going to make Simpson movies it better not be like the past few years of episodes. The first years ruled but as of late it has really licked ass.

There was a time several years ago where Matt Groenig was considering doing a live-action spinoff about Krusty the Clown, starring the voice actor who does him on the show... I don't know if this would have worked, but I would have loved to have seen it. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

As for a Simpsons movie-- the track record for this is so up-in-the-air it's impossible to predict whether it would be good or not. Hopefully they would keep the same writers on board, and manage to expand the show to cinematic format while keeping the humor at the same level. If they do it right we could have another South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut (albeit with less swearing.)

if the simpsons movie was going to be a live-action movie it would suck. if they were to do a movie about it, i would hope that it would be a cartoon movie. they should do an entire movie about the trilogy of error, the halloween episodes. those would make good movies.

Tell you what: I will be first on line to see this movie. It's unbelieveably funny. The latest crop of eps aren't that great but they still make you smill and laugh. Homer is moving closer and closer to icon status. I think a movie would be great!!!

Agreed with the horror thing (You will find me in horror chat constantly). But OF COURSE The Simpsons movie would be animated? How could it not be?

live action would suck. definitely.
this is the greatest tv show of all time, in my opinion, however the past few seasons have shown serious writer burnout and to make a movie at this point in time would probably just end up as a lackluster effort that would most likely hurt the legacy of the simpsons. as a fan, i'd of course be the first in line to see it, but i'd resent it because i dont think they can do it and satisfy the fans.

Yeah i agree that if the Simpsons were to be a live action movie it would suck. But if it was, William H. Macy is the perfect Flanders. Anyway, i hope its a cartoon and not live-action.

Actually, a 'Simpsons' live action movie would never work, despite what a very good suggestion it is to have William H. Macy as Flanders.
First of all, the voices of the actors, which are a big part of the show, especially Homer's, wouldn't be able to do the movie. Bart is voiced by a 41 year old woman named Nancy Cartwright (she played the blonde secretary for Harry Shearer's reporter in 'Godzilla'). She also does the voice for Nelson, Todd Flanders, Ralph Wiggum and Kearney.
Dan Castellaneta, who was the actor Danny Devito was talking to in his office in 'The War Of The Roses', voices Homer, Grampa Simpson, Krusty the Klown, Barney Gumble, Groundskeeper Willy, Mayor Quimby and a lot of other voices. So, already it's going to be near impossible for them to pull it off, unless they don't mind shooting this thing for an entire year because of all the makeup changes and setting up scenes like they do when one actor plays a twin.
Yeardly Smith, who was the pregnant check-out girl in 'City Slickers', could probably be the only one that may pull it off. She does the voice for Lisa.
Hank Azaria, who was Helen Hunt's real life husband and was also in 'Godzilla', as the cameraman, and Harry Shearer, who was the commentator on 'The Truman Show' and the asshole reporter in 'Godzilla', do the bulk of the voices.
By the way, Matt Groening, who's the creator of 'The Simpsons', says he's got a story all worked out to do as a feature film, he's just not sure if the story has the scope to be a feature but has confirmed that it will happen.
