Do you know any good books that anylyze Psycho and horror movies

Hello fellow schmoes. Ive noticed on these boards a few times that some people who have a paper coming up in school about horror movies have gotten help here. If any of you could provide help that would be great.

Im thinking of two different paper topics for an argumentitive essay.


1. The movie Psycho provided a template for horror movies and later slahers from there on.

I was wondering if any of you guys knew some books that discussed link between Psycho and other horror movies like Halloween, Friday the Thirtienth, and Texas Chainsaw Massacer.


2.Psycho, in my opinion, represented the pinnacle of Hitchcock's filmaking flares

Would you guys any good anylasis books on Psycho or just Hitchcock's movies in general that may include a section on Psycho.

Try PSYCHOS & MADMEN, by John McCarty.

It reviews all of the subgenres (including a lengthy PSYCHO chapter) that have been influential in horror.
