Ok...i'm gonna buy this. That's pretty much a given. What I want to know is this. I've heard a rumour that the production values on the UK edition will not equal those of the US release. Does anyone know if this is true? The rumour basically suggests that the UK release will be a bit cheap and plasticy looking compared to the R1 version. I emailed the UK branch of Anchor Bay to no avail. The fact that i've not received any reply just makes me more suspicious cause they have replied quite promptly to all past queries i've thrown at them. Any help appreciated.
Please don't move this to the DVD forum as I feel the regular schmoes here are better equipped to answer my question.
Thanks in advance.

Psychocandy... Well I don't really know what to tell you. I wish I could set the record straight and give you the information you want, but I just don't have it.
I do find it hard to believe that they would really go through the trouble of changing the packaging much for release where you live. It is possible I guess, I just don't really see it happening.
It isn't like the US packaging is all that elaborate or costly to produce. I was actually a bit let down by the quality (perhaps nothing could've lived up to my expectations though).
Also, don't be too worried about not getting a response from Anchor Bay. I've e-mailed them a couple times and never have gotten a response.
Well, hope it all works out for you.

I will not buy this unless it is at a cheap price, although some of the extra's rule I will not pay full price for a cover that is so generic and third class and also that is the smelliest package, I picked one up and instantly hated it's looks and whatever it was made of stunk to high heaven! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif booo!!!

The thing sure does have an overwhelming odor. Not sure what we are smelling, maybe the paint used on the latex cover? Dunno.
A side note...
Place your bets on how long these covers will last. I'm very familiar with latex masks and how they should be cared for to prolong their life. These latex covers are going to dry out, crack, and really come apart at some point.
Back to the DVD...
Fact is, if you don't have the film on DVD this is a great version to get. I have the Elite version already, and am pleased that I picked this one up. I got if for $29.99 at Best Buy and am glad I decided to get it. It is quite cool, as a Evil Dead fan, to have the book. It really does kick ass.
If you are an Evil Dead fan, and you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.
