Just finished watching this Roger Corman classic for the first time and suprisingly it creeped the shit out of me. The whole buried alive things always gives me the shivers. I also thought Vincent Price gave one of his best performances througout the movie. Is The Pit and the Pendalum as good?

I personally think that The Pit and the Pendulum is as good as The Fall of the House of Usher.
Vincent Price did wonderful work in both films.

Corman's FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER kicks major ass! I haven't seen PIT AND THE PENDOLUM so far. Check out TOWER OF LONDON for an early effort from Price and Corman. It's great!

HOUSE OF USHER happens to be my favorite Price film. Those paintings are creepy! (You know the ones I'm talking about.)

The paintings rule! I'm playing in a band and our name is VIVIAN USHER, inspired by this movie.

All damn great films. Vinnie's my top actor.
Masque of the Red Death is my favourite, IMO the best of Corman mainly due to Nic Roeg's amazing cinematography and art direction. Corman / Price collaboration: Edgar Allen Poe's Tales of Terror is also excellent!!!
