I love this film very much, its wonderful. But I have one question I would like to ask. Okay you know the scene where Kirsty ran away from skinless Frank with the box and she is running down the sidewalk and the scene keeps dissolving back and fowarth between Kirsty walking and Frank calling her name, and she passes out. Then we see skinless Frank and the scene dissolves to a huge red rose blooming, does this signal that Frank is like a rose in bloom. I know tht sounds corny and overthought, but I was just wondering.

I think it was just put in there by Clive Barker to contrast the dark themes of the film. The film deals a lot with contrast. Pain = pleasure, "Demons to some, angels to others.", etc. I really don't think it was meant to signify a character or that it had any real meaning in terms of what was actually happening with the story. Sort of like the demon face in THE EXORCIST. It was just there for a sensory effect.

Yah I agree with you. I just always try to find hidden meanings behind movies, call me weird. Oh well.

Hmmm. Not sure. I have the DVD which has director's commentary on it. I'll have to watch it again to see if Clive makes any mention of that scene.
