ROCK ON MAN! THE MATRIX IS MY FAV MOVIE, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE SEQUAL SINCE I THE FIRST ONE ENDED IN THE THEATRE. I JUST HOPE NOTHING ELSE GOES WRONG TO DELAY THE PRODUCTION.

Personally, I think I am one of the few who has no interest whoatsoever in the next two films. The first was an overrated, "pretend to be deeper than I really am, while throwing in kick-ass action sequences so that people think I have the greatest most original plot ever, but in actuality I stol it from several other sources" film, and I have no intentions of seeing the second or third in theaters.

I hope it'll be good, but we must face the fact that its release will be blemished by the deaths of two of its performers. I need not elaborate.

Uh oh, here come the Matrix naysayers. "It wasn't the most original idea of the 20th century, therefore it's crap!" is getting to be an old line.

I'm personally very much looking forward to the Matrix 2 and 3. The Wachowski's are talented filmmakers (Bound kicks ass!) and the sci-fi universe they created for Matrix is rich with visual detail that I want to see more of. I'm curious to see how they take the story and technique to the next level, and what exactly their two-movie story will be. Bring on 2003!

I'm gonna see it, but I'm not going nuts for it at all. I think THE MATRIX was very good entertainment, but it was way overrated. Still, I'll see RELOADED and REVOLUTIONS, because if they're as good as the first one, I can't deny that it's worth a look.

I'll probably see them, but I'm not "going nuts". The first one is definately overrated, but it's fun at times. But as you *might* know, it's all done before, except the flo-mo thingy or whatever they call it.

I'll be seeing them, but not on the opening night.

I definitely thought the action parts of the Matrix were excellent, but the story became too predictable too quickly.

And I think that's why I hesitate to get too excited about v2. If Keanu's character's in it, how tough will it be to win? No one can beat him and they didn't go out of their way to complicate the plot the first time....

I just wanna point out: my reservations have nothing to do with people saying that Matrix is overrated. In fact, I'm tired of hearing that too. It's just-ya know-the unfortunate circumstances!

Shutup about the overrated CRAP! i love but if u dont then dont bother GROWL...
but they say the new prob in the matrix 2 is that they will be a strong agent like neo who also can distort the matrix like him. Maybe smith will come back reprogrammed or sumthin

I think that the sequals will be better than any of us will ever expect, and no way is the Matrix overrated! It made wire fighting, bullet timing and kung fu 1 million times more popular! Im sick of all these people saying "everyone thinks that the matrix was the first to use the wire kung fu! Well it isn't!" Everyone knows that, these people should be happy with the matrix, because the matrix brought back wire works to hollywood and made it popular.

ill see it, but am not going nuts over it. I, like many others, felt the movie was overrated. but I won't shed any excitement until a teaser trailer/theatrical trailer comes out.

I didn't think The Matrix was overrated at all. Rather, I thought it was a great movie. I'm very much looking forward to the second part of the trilogy...

The Matrix is overrated. The Matrix stole its ideas from several sources. (ok, so I didnt steal, but I am tired of hearing people say how fucking original it is). And the first film was merely average - and that was the first time I saw it. There, now, anyone else want to tell those of us who dont like it to shut up?? Because I was under the impression that we could give our own opinions on any film. Oh, we can?? Excellent.

I'm not really looking forward to it. The first one was solid entertainment with some great style and effects, but I didn't find it particularly revolutionary and some of it was downright comical (Neo with the minigun magically missing Morpheus...miniguns don't miss when shot into a room that small, they take everything apart.)

If you'll notice, Dumb-Fokker, I never told anyone to shut up. I merely said that hearing the words "overrated" and "Matrix" in the same sentence together was getting old. Thank you for saying them again.

Karaku, I wasnt really referencing you in that statement, just some others who thought it necessary for those of us who didnt like it, to "shut up". But anyways. This is for everyone who is tired of hearing that word Matrix and overrated in the same sentence - deal with it. If your going to ask peoples opinions on films, your gonna hear things you dont like. Sorry if I sound rude, but its just the facts, guys. Peoples opinions differ.

I wouldn't say I'm "going nuts", but I am looking very forward to the sequels. As for the original, I think it's a great film, and my appreciation for it grows with every viewing, but I think the film can be very overrated by some people. Some things in the film were seen in other films. Example: The bullet-time effects can be seen in Blade, and the visual style can be seen in Dark City or The Crow.

Hurray! I have finally found someone who's looking forward to the Matrix seequels as much as me! The first one was a really cool movie.. and I have a feeling that the next two won't be dissapointing! The only problem is that they will be released in S U C H a long time, it's scary.
And speaking of this "overrated" stuff, well, a movie doesn't have to be all new and revolutionary to become a famous & acknowledged film.. if you know what I mean http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

The Matrix is one of my favorite movies of all time, but ANYONE who has seen the anime Ghost in the Shell can directly tell that The Matrix stole a lot of elements from that movie.

Alf-Life

LOL... I was just about to mention Ghost in the Shell... I mean, even the credits and some camera angles were shamelessy ripped from the classic anime; GiTS.

However, what I can say is that unlike GiTS and it's other sources, Matrix did all this in real life, and in the documentary on the DVD they even state their heavy influence from Japanese Manga.

In fact, although it borrowed from other sources, it improved/'popularised'(?) them - is 'Max Payne' a bad computer game because it 'borrowed' Bullet-Time/Flo-Mo from The Matrix? And what about that Japanese movie that Tarantino alledgedy drew Reservoir Dogs from?

As for the film, like Episode I, I can stand watching the last 1/3 of the film, but before that, it's pretty slow and boring. But again, like Episode I, I suppose it must take time to set the scene.

I read half the script for the second movie, and heres what happens in the beginning
SPOILERS

>

>

>

>

Neo flys aways and then he gets back to the place where they boot out. He looks around and everyone who died from the first one is alive again. Morpheus tells him that the first one was just a computer simulation to test his ability. (that pissed me off) Then they send him back to his home like nothing ever happened, and they kinda restart the whole thing again.
In the middle he cuts one of the agents in half completely.

Thats all I will say.

I've been waiting 3 years for this movie to be released! All of the recent movies have ripped on the ground breaking freeze swoosh (Clockstoppers, Charlie's Angel's, Scary Movie 2, Duece bigalow) first featured in Matrix, I'm waiting for something really special in the next two movies. Will they release it already?

ummm that site with the script is a joke site... a joke it is not the real script even the interviews started to get all screwy... back to the script, Morpheus started to talk about too much poo and the one will be the person to shovel more oo than anyone ever has so it is basically a prank

I am not going nuts over Matrix 2 (aka The Matrix Reloaded), but I think it should be worth a trip over to the movie theater. I am just shocked that they are reportedly coming out with two Matrix movies in 2003 (The Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions). Personally, I think that is a bit ambitious of them, but I'm sure that they could do it.

Exactly my feelings! I loved the first one, a high-flying action flick where they actually bothered to incorporate a plot. One of my favorite action films ever, and I just hope that the sequel(s) will be what T2 was to The Terminator. Can't wait.

My anticipation for Matrix 2 is probably unparalleled, at least in this universe.

Yeah I'm fuckin excited as hell. Every time I go to work I look to see if I got a new Matrix trailer or poster. A new trailer would be an excellent x-mas gift for everybody, although unlikely. I can hardly wait for the movie to arrive in cans. All I know for sure is that I'm fuckin preview that the night before fo' sho'. Oh yeeeaaa.

Days before opening: 150 (too many)
