I like that because it is disturbing and they don't want to be smooth.
They know how to shock you :
The splinter in the eye ( Zombie )
The rats scene ( Inferno )
The needles on the eyes to keep them open while the killer is slaughtering his victims ( Opear )
The spiders - scene ( The Beyond )
Eye cut ( The Ripper Of N - Y )
I am not easily shocked but these scenes were really gruesome and sleazy.

I agree with you wholeheartedly dude. Gotta love that splinter in the eye in Zombie. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
