Ok, well from the American POV, everything is ok, as far as teh release date is going. But Columbia pictures feel like they wanna screw us British audiences around.
After thankfully claiming that they would release it on the same date as the American release date (may 3rd), they decided to go and change their minds and the release date!
They have now pushed back the release date to 14th June, postponing the release of the movie by over a month.
There has been no word given out as to why they have done this, it's just been done.
I wanna hear a big rant from any British schmoe here who gives a damn and an even bigger rant from sympathetic American schmoes http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif
I despise living in the uk!
Fucking hell. I've waited for this movie since they announced it in '93. You'd think 9 years would be long enough.
An frankly this makes me even more nervous about the quality of the film. Why push it back now, 2 months before release?

You have got to be fucking kidding me, right? Why can't they just release it the same time as in America? I hate it when companies do this, it really pisses me off. All I can say is the wait better be worth it as I am so looking forward to Spider-Man!! Oh well, at least I've got a Spidey trailer to keep me happy until I see it http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Holy crap some of you guys...especially you Narrator are taking this really badly http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I know we all feel screwed over, but that's the way the American studios wanna work things. Build up the anticipation towards the movie, give us more hype about the ol' flick and possibly bring in a larger audience with more time to advertise the movie....but to push back the release date by over a month, is just uncalled for.

Well, no change there then with the way the movie world operates. Usually this kind of staggered release is done for no other reason than financial.
So it gives me one more month to ponder the obvious empty space in the movie and how it changes a key historical event in Spideys life story...

Well I for one am pissed Herculeez. This is happening way to often. The only positive side about being here rather than the States is that the MPAA has got real lax and we get to see such classics as Battle Royale in all its glory!!!
I am also pissed at any movie that comes out in June this yr cos I have exams and Tthe World Cup is on!!!!

Looks like I'll have to make do with a pirate copy when it hits U.S. cinemas. Damn studios, you see what you drive me to?!

Guys, this always happens in the UK. I mean, it was only one or two years ago that day and date UK/US releases started happening. i mean, take episode I. Lucas wanted to keep it all secret till it came out in the US - a month or so before it came out here. By then we all knew what happened if we so wanted. They always do it, they think we just aren't as important as the American maket. But hey, it backfires on them - I mean some people will see the film by other means and some just won't bother as the hype will have gone over the top, people will know whether it's a good film or not and people will know what happens.
Personally, Columbia can only have done it to avoid certain other films/events... I mean, will Star wars take up residence here that spidey will die a natural death? Or do they reckon it would run for ages if it weren't for the world cup??? It can only be what the film is up against, no other reason. Or at least, you'd think they'd have told us if it was something practical.

I've been wondering why it always takes so long for new movies to reach the UK. Anyone?

Doesn't matter anyway... I'm used to being screwed around with videogame releases that slip month after month, are poor conversions, AND cost more than the American and Japanese versions.
And PS, I thought the topic said Briteny Spears fans :P
