I think a Medusa would be kinda cool. It would turn people to stone but only theyre skin would turn to stone. Then it would break there body and all this blood and GUts would spill out

Medusa would be cool!
I always thought that the Grimm brother's fairy tales would make good gore movies. In like a compilation, like creepshow. some of the stories are extremely gory, and they usually have a good message too.
I think an Incubus would be good.

How about a Griffin or a Basilisk? The latter would be especially interesting.

There's a good amount of ideas about this in this thread from last month:

Isn't the ghost on "the entity" sort of like an incubus?

If you want to see a good horror fairy tale check out snow white a tale of terror. It stars sigourny weaver and is good stuff. As far as mythological horror villians I think an evil centaur would be some scary shit.

I agree with Medusa.

the entity was a sort of an incubus..that was such a great movie!!
By the way, do any of you guys know any horror, or even non-horror movies starring Barbara Hershey??
I've never heard of this Snow White...and Sigourney is in it?!? Verrry cool. I have to see it.

I may be mistaken, but I vaguely recall Medusa making an appearance in Clash of the Titans via stop-motion effects.

I've always loved werewolves and any kind of anthropomorphic (half-human half-animal) creatures. In my opinion, it's high time we see a werelion, or a weretiger, a werebear, weredragon among others. A movie with all these creatures is one I wouldn't miss.

Not to diss, but don't you remember there was an Incubus movie already? Now it may not have been based around the mythological fable (being I STILL haven't seen it yet) but I thought it was suppose to be.
Medusa. Wow. That would be cool. I wonder why no one has ever tackled it.
Also, I think a creepy story could be made out of the Billy Goats Gruff fable. Anyone remember that? The Ogre or whatever it was that lived under that bridge?

YES!!! That would be AWESOME!!! I forgot all about the Minotaur legend!!! I have always thought that was a very evil looking yet fascinating creature. H.R.Giger could design it. Yea, that would rock.
Elgyn: Yes, a modern-day Grim Reaper tale would be very, very spooky. It could be kind of like the MothmanProphecy thing where people report seeing a humanoid thing and then dying . Could be creepy.

We do seem to meet eye to eye on a lot of things, dont we gorysnoopy?
.....I started reading my copy of the Grimm's fairy Tales, and I think that Cat and Mouse (the GERMAN version...there are several) would make a good horror movie.

The basilisk was supposingly part serpent, part rooster. It's breath could scorch the earth and its glance was lethal. It was defeated by a man who held a mirror to the basilisk, causing it to see itself and turn to stone.

This is one of those Cryptozoology studies. They made a movie somewhat based on this called "The Last Broadcast".

The South African legend of the Tokalosh(not sure about the spelling) would be a good idea. The Tokalosh are small creatures that are about half a foot tall, and are invisable. They come into your room at night when you are asleep, and carry you off to their underground kingdom to make you work for them(or the eat you, not to sure what they do to you exactly). The one way to stop them from carrying you away, is to place bricks under the corners of your bed so as to make it to high for them to reach you. What do you guys think?
