I really liked The Stand. I thought it was a very entertaining and well done adaptation of the book by Stephen King. In fact, I now own it. I would recommend it to anyone, but I'm sure that some people won't want to watch it on account of the fact that it is six hours long.

Any television miniseries could be considered an epic, I suppose, so: THE STAND of course.
Also, Kubrick's version of THE SHINING is definitely an epic.

My list of epiic horror movies:
The Shining, The Stand, Salem's Lot, Jaws, The Amityville Horror, The Exorcist, Army of Darkness, Bram Stoker's Dracula. I know I've missed some but I'm in the throes of a cold & can't think too straight.
