<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">"Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" in Christmas 2002.

Yep, that's unfortunately the case. In a memo obtained by "Cinema Confidential" circulated at 20th Century Fox on Sunday, the studio informed its employees that an announcement regarding the release date shift of "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones," which will have the much anticipated prequel debuting on December 20, 2002 instead of next May.

No reason for the release shift was given in the memo; however, the studio prints that a press conference will be held on Wednesday to address the release shift. The official announcement is set to debut sometime tomorrow.

The full memo can be viewed by clicking on a larger version. Unfortunately, our spy on the west coast could not come up with a better scan.

George, why why, WHY?

This is bullshit, after all, isn't it APRIL FOOLS DAY today? Hellooooooo?

Do you really think Lucas is going to retact billions worth of merchandising, posters, teasers and whatnot? Nonono, believe me, the campiagn for EPII is unstoppable. I don't think we have to fear a christmas release. And besides, who wants to get in the way of THE TWO TOWERS? Even Lucas wouldn't be this much of a retard.

In short: this memo is B U L L S H I T !!!

APRIL FOOLS!

(That'd be funny though, if that happened we'd REALLY know what people like better, LOTR or Star Wars)

Star Wars is cool, but Lord of the Rings is cooler. Anyway The Two Towers would have a much better chance in December then Attack of the Clones would.

Americana - I don't mean to rub it in, but it sure as heck looked like you were fooled. Usually people put this kind of smiley in: " http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif" But you didn't....so...

If I put the Smiley in it like so http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif then it would throw the whole gag off. Come on ak, there's over 6000 plus Schmoes here, if you guys kept your mouths to your selves I'm sure that I could have fooled at least one of them.

p.s. But to show your point, yes when I first read it on Cinecon.com I was a little drawn into it's bullshit, but then I remembered the date and came around. Fuck, Thomas Chau you got me!!!

Just think also if this were really true. Those poor guys in Seattle would be there forever. Just thinking about it makes me feel bad for them, and not to mention while I surely laugh my ass off that is.
