I bought this as a potential candidate for my second in-depth analysis, after my first one did better than I ever could have expected (http://www.joblo.com/ubb/Forum19/HTML/002345.html - cheap plug).

However, after watching the first 20 minutes I was wholly disappointed that it was actually semi-decent, and it was almost as if the director made every attempt to make this movie non-mockable. As a result I stopped watching it and went in a bad mood for a few days. Or minutes, I forget which.

Anyway, has anyone seen this movie the whole way through, and does it continue to be - shudder - semi-decent all the way through? Should I brave it again?

UGH! You mean they actually did a sequel to that crappy "I've Been Waiting For You" movie?

JayWolf, I'm Still Waiting For You is not exactly a sequel to the made for TV trash I've Been Waiting For You. I think that's just the title overseas, in the US this movie is Lovers Lane. It stars that girl from that Nickelodeon show The Journey Of Allen Strange, Anna Faris from Scary Movie, and that girl from the first season of MTV's Undressed. I saw it a while back, it was kind of dull, but not too bad (definatly not as bad as Bloody Murder, and not as bad as I've Been Waiting For You). The ending kind of lost me though, it's not that it's hard to understand, it's just I got confused with the characters.
It takes place on Valentines Day. Some minor spoilers below, so you were warned. Pretty much, the movie starts with a couple in a car at Lovers Lane, the guy gets killed by a guy with a hook, and the girl runs out of the car and sees a group of bodies in the hook guys car. It doesn't bother to show it, but we know shes gonna die. So the sheriff and his daughter are driving by the scene later that night and the sheriff stops to see what was going on. The woman who was killed is the sheriff's wife, who is having an affair with the guy who was killed. The girl gets out of the car and sees her dead mother. She walks up to her mother and drops off a Valentine card, then leaves. 13 years later, the girl is sort of a nerd at her high school, and she goes to the school with the boy who is the son of the guy her mother was having an affair with (confused yet). He lives alone with his mother. Meanwhile, at the looney bin, the hook guy was arrested and sits in the asylum. He escapes and steals his hook, and humerously enough, leaves a message on the wall that reads PRISON FOOD SUCKS. The mother of the boy mentioned earlier is nervous when she learns the hook guy has escaped and makes sure he stays in his room all evening (well, he's really grounded for getting beat up by his girlfriend). So of course, he sneaks out and goes up to Lovers Lane with his friends (unknowing of the escaped looney). The daughter from the begining winds up with them at Lovers Lane. The hook guy shows up and begins killing the friends off, so they hide in a nearby house. The mother of the boy and the sheriff then team up to search for their missing children.
I hope that wasn't too confusing, cause as I read back over it, it seems really confusing. Well, the cover has two people by a car up at Lovers Lane, and as a border, blood is covering the top with a hook lying in the blood. The cover looks pretty cool, but don't be fooled, it's not that great.
What really stunk is that there is no rating on it, so my video store assumed you have to be 18 to rent it, so I was hoping for some good gore. No such luck. =(
