Nightmare on Elm Street 2 - One gay movie

After the recent threads about this flick, I decided to pick it up at the local Blockbuster. Geez, when Arrow said this movie had homoerotic undertones he wasn't lying. THIS IS ONE GAY MOVIE! Here are some examples I can think of right off the back -
[list] When Jesse is looking in his closet there is a box with "PROBE" written on the side of it. What the hell is that? Jesse's "Can I stay at your house even though I could be having sex with a hot girl?" line to the guy. The fact that the director seemed to love showing shirtless guys dripping with sweat all the time. The S&M loving coach and the gay bar.

* The part where the invisible Freddy ties the coach up in the gym shower with rope, then slaps the coach's ass with a towel over and over until it becomes red and sore. All the while we are treated with close-ups of this guys ass. What The Fuck?

The movie was barely "ok" and had no female nudity. The gore was plentiful though and I loved some of the weird stuff in it. My rating - 7/10

I think the director (Jack Sholder) is gay or something, but that wouldn't bother me if the script was better. To be honest, though, it had some good parts, like Freddy coming out of Jesse's body!

This movie could've been good if it wasn't executed so poorly and cheesy. I mean, once I saw the bird all of a sudden go crazy, then burst into flames, I would've booked house. Also, the parents were annoying as all hell. I couldn't really dig any of the characters. Also, how about that stupid kid that walked up to Freddy saying stuff like, "It's ok, we come in peace," and crap like that. He was just asking to get diced. I hated this one. Interesting premise. Bad execution and casting. Also, you all might think I'm weird, but I was able to ignore the homosexual undertones very easily. I'm not going to let some stupid little undertones ruin my viewing of a movie, although, this movie turned out to be a pile of crap. I enjoyed FREDDY'S DEAD much more than this one.

Why is everyone so obsessed with the gay undertones in this movie? It does kind of make you go "huh?", but it is not really a major part of the flick.

Does it make people that uncomfortable?

Well, FatJohnny, some heterosexuals just seem to have a phobia of homos. I don't know why. I mean if your comfortable with your sex, why let the presence of a gay person get to you? The only reason I could see having problems with it is if a gay pushed himself onto you, then I would fully understand there irritance of it. But if there not bugging you in that way, then I don't see the big damn deal.

well the movie may have gay undertones true but for me being a straight woman i loved this movie. cuz i loved to watch jessie in his bed sweat profeusly and in the opening scene dig in his underwear and just be in his undies oh to let you know i think i saw something gay as well when jesse screams after his first nightmare when freddy did that body and brain crap watch his dad touch his leg after one scene he still touches and to me looks like he rubs it. oh well just my opinion but i loved it for jesse he's hot though in real life he's gay

Yes it has gay undertones.... but Its still a good movie. The whole gym coach shower scene makes me laugh though. I mean who couldn't see the undertones in this movie. They should just be called blatent tones.

this was the only Freddie movie I absolutely hated. and this was b4 I knew about the overtones, but its not like the director was good @ concealing it. but one other under/overtone was how Jesse would rather go fight Freddie than bang that one chick. but did the actor who play Jesse even make more movies afterwards?
